Ulead VS 10 Plus and QT Question

I'm on a PC and use Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus...

I am completely unfamiliar with QuickTime codecs and would like some advice on which would give me the best quality without blowing the file up to ridiculous purportions.

Last time I tried to render a raw into QT I was using VS 8, and when the program didn't scream in terror and promptly crash, it blew up a 3 minute AMV w/o any SFX or overlays to 2 GIG!

If anyone here is familiar with VS 10 Plus and experienced in QT format, I would greatly appreciate the advice and suggestions! I have a few friends who use Macs who would like to be able to DL my stuff and they can't with any of the other codecs.
