This video was pretty atrocious. Technical flaws were the first thing that turned me off. For example, you have a 128kb/s MP3 vs. a 192 so it sounded pretty horrible. You also had this at a really weird frame rate. If you were using IVTC footage it should be 23.976 or 24 only 24 if you use Premiere. Also you did not crop any of the black on the sides which were from the DVD which was annoying and wasted compression space. The video itself had almost no pacing and what I mean by that, is that you changed how you were synching and playing the scenes out in almost every cut. You also had cuts at really awkward times and there was barely any continuity which could go along with how the song was changing. Another issue in this video was the lyrical synch, although some was evident, at times you had it backwards, for example when "Father into your hands I commend my spirit" line came along you didn't have anyone dying but when the line "why have you forsaken me" came along you had Tuxedo dying (or what looked like dying). None of the video seemed to make sense to me. Without seeing the series and not knowing your true intentions for this video I found it to be horrible. 1/5

I wasn't that impressed. I'm gonna say that for this video to be presentable by today's standards it would have to have better pacing and be less boring throughout. It was hard for me to finish the whole video. I didn't like the audio quality and the video wasn't that pretty either. I think this old school editing style, which wasn't so much a style as just a jumble of clips from what looked like one episode of the series has no place in the amv community anymore.

Sorry, then. General concensus is that it sucksshinodude wrote:this video will be the only video using only sailormoon footage I will ever download and watch.
/me gets

Get my other Sailor Moon AMV, it's better in my eye, even though I was less experienced back then.
This video is very much something I made not expecting it to be well-liked by many, so the raining negative comments was expected and welcomed.
To put it simply, it was something I had to do, and had to finish. It was one of my earliest AMV ideas, and would have been my 2nd AMV if I'd had the episodes on something besides VHS back then.

It is, as far as I know. I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't check, but it should be 23.976 as it's IVTC'd dvd footage, which was 29.97 to start with. Simple telecide/decimate in avisynth. If it's something else, I will have to re-encode it and re-upload it.DaCoolGohan wrote:If you were using IVTC footage it should be 23.976...

Quite. I agree that maybe it could have used a little bit of filtering, but overall it looks fine. Actually I rather like the oldskoolness of that. Was a pretty enjoyable vid, could have used a few more synched action beats, but otherwise good stuff. And I might be rating it a little on the low scale since I never was a fan of the show and probably don't get some of the scene choices.shinodude wrote: this video will be the only video using only sailormoon footage I will ever download and watch.
