Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT'S OUT OF CONTEXT MAN!

It's not my fault the kitty needed smothering ;_;

It was like 5 days old, had a disclocated shoulder, had only one working lung, etc etc. It was dying. I just made it swifter and easier.

And no it doesn't require VLC. That's just the easy way. Can also play if you have ffdshow or any other x264 decoder (pretty sure Nero Showtime can play em)
+ MP4 Splitter or Quicktime player if you don't use a high profile, b-pyramids, subme 7, b-frames>2,etc.

Happy to see you've changed your mind about avc/mp4 :)

I was always under assumption that h.264 is becoming standard. So encoding amvs in like that, is not really mindblasting nowadays. It is more expected.
Therefore making a thread like this seems a little bit akward to me.
Also you don't need VLC to play back AVC.

Btw: Have the announcement rules been changed?

but why did you make an announcement for this? :|

cmon, i know i'm not the only one thinking it...
Just for the record many editors, including myself have done this, and I don't remember one person really bitching about them remastering, re editing a video then announcing it again, until now. The threads didn't even get locked. Yeah, I'm sure a lot are probably butt hurt right now, but in all honesty, who cares, I've seen a lot worse gone down here like announcing live action videos and the person getting permission from the mods to do it. I think they just don't enforce the rules for certain people.. and they get to slide over and over again. Ahh hypocrisy.
Btw: Have the announcement rules been changed?
I'm under the assumption there being some major biased here for some reason. I don't hear anyone bitching about this sort of thing in requiett's thread at ALL and that shit isn't even anime in the slightest. xnod recently even posted an old ass video recently because it didn't get enough attention before and no one complained.. yet why are people bitching here? I'm the only one that I can think of that made a smart ass comment about requiett getting away with posting that, and a while ago I was really getting in the mods face about this one guy who was aloud to post a live action video that stayed unlock for over a week about a year ago.. only to find out he had permission from the mods. I had no idea you can get permission for these type of things from the mods. I say again, hypocrisy.

Re-releasing a video in a new format =/= remastering or re-editing. And as for why people will complain in this thread about the rules not being followed and not in others, making an entire announcement thread for videos that already exist when you already get a lot of attention seems kind of shameless (though I kind of hate to point that out and get dragged into all the drama).

I can see where you're coming from. I don't mind when people do this, but it really bugs me when people get away with releasing non anime videos, that is for other sites and not this one.. but mods don't mind if you post those here depending who you are

That I haven't complained in another thread is because this is the first one that caught my attention. Wich was easy concerning a title like "New H264 encodes".

So it is ok when I tweak my avs-script a little and release a re-encode in Snow?
Hey, after that there's still plenty of codecs left. Everyone could cover several months with a single video. Great time.
