.Vob to Wmv
I used to be able to convert .Vob to .Wmv by using Divx converter and then windows media encoder. But now I cant seem to do it.
Is there another way to do it? Time isnt an issue with me because I'm usually away from my computer for about 6 hours at a time.
each time I try to convert from Divx to .wmv it comes up the error. Invalid or corrupt data was encountered.[0xC00D002F]
I dont know what that means but if anyone has any idea of what I can use now to convert please let me know.

well I have an old computer and the only way that I can get footage without going through a sharing network or torrents is for me to rip a dvd then convert it to a format that I can use for editing.
I used to be able to rip to .vob
Convert to .divx
Ecnode to .wmv
then start editing using windows movie maker.
I now have Premier but I still need to convert the footage to .wmv or another format that I can use for premier.
But like I said before if anyone else has a better idea I'm all ears.

OMG! I don't have enough room on my drive for this much data!
even using the lagraith lossless codec I cant fit all 26 episodes on my hard drive.
Is there any other suggestions for compressions? I would like to save all 26 episodes on the drive.

I don't want to be perfect. I just don't want to be useless.

Either clip what you need or buy a new HDD.Zinsurin wrote:OMG! I don't have enough room on my drive for this much data!

Unless you're planning on making a 650-minute AMV, there's no need to rip entire episodes to your hard drive.Zinsurin wrote:OMG! I don't have enough room on my drive for this much data!

I always liked to have the entire series on the disk so should I decide to make another video on the same series or change the direction of the video all together I don't have to rip individual clips.
I honestly didn't expect that 2 hours of footage could take up 15+ Gb of space.

Well, you can always keep the scenes you rip and then rip more as needed. There's no reason to have complete episodes on your computer, at least not in Lagarith/HuffYUV format. It's not always convenient, but that's just the way things are when you're an editor.Zinsurin wrote:I always liked to have the entire series on the disk so should I decide to make another video on the same series or change the direction of the video all together I don't have to rip individual clips.

As for the second part of that comment...
