Conceptually it's nothing special, but there are some effects in here that are clever and unique, yet the video has a simple elegance to it that I really dig. Great work!
4/5
Conceptually, I think this is one of the strongest vids that has come out in a while. From start to finish she had a very concise and effect progression in terms of the story and how it fit the song. We see all 4 of these girls and how they interconnect. They all have issues with feeling determined in themselves, based off of things they've either dealt with in the past or how meticulous they are about their future. They've all built up these walls, and they also can't find a way to let anybody else in.
The place where we begin to see a change is during the line "And while you rest inside your regret, the sun rises and sets again" (basically saying, life is going on without you while you're just living in the past and not looking forward). The way she did the offset blurred footage was kind of showing the characters coming outside of themselves, and we also start seeing them accept the significant other in their lives, but it isn't until the very end when we see the final breakthrough and they let themselves get taken care of by other people and they finally begin to look ahead and accept their lives as they are and just be happy.
I can't say enough how much this video absolutely works on every level. The scene selection, the effects, everything has a purpose, nothing is superfluous. I love it.
5/5 no question.
(And the static part at the beginning? I don't see what the problem with it is. We hear static coming in and out in the audio... Besides, it doesn't betray the tone of the video, unless you go into it expecting it to be all happy and sunny, which I suppose you might given the title, but then you're missing the point of the video).
