  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Robot Carnival Star Light Angel

Post by flynnstudio » Sun Mar 18, 2007 8:52 am

Hello,

Please note I have requested removal of this video as no editing has taken place to the original video clip.

Thanks,

Chris.

interesting music and interesting source, but there was very little actual footage synch.

the interesting footage was not combined with the interesting music in a very good manner.

I'd work more on timing for your next one.

Firstly thanks for the comments Fall_child42.

You have me thinking now that I should probably pull this video from the site.

I have intentionally not edited the original video source whatsoever, nor do I want to or intend to. I have composed an entirely new and original score for it and that was my only aim.

You now have me concerned that this is not the place for this kind of video and I'd be pretty upset to have it viewed from this perspective ( not through any fault of the sites members I should add) and continously rated by these expectations.

mmh..what to do ?

Well I can tell you you really should not remove it, as it is for what the site is for. And it is an interesting experiment.

Actually, partially it was my fault for not reading the announcement thread and assuming it was a "music video" Rhather than a rescore.

:O

This is an interesting musical experiment, it fits with the one good thing I initially had thought about and that was the mood created, and also explains why the thing is ten minutes long...:|

as a side note

when you say "rescore" did you actually write that music? if so it was interesting (as stated before) which by my standards is good.

but if this is the entire thing unedited there *MAY* be a problem I can't be sure that would be up to a mod's interpretation of the stated rules.

I hate to backtrack here but, looking at it as this other perspective, if you did indeed write a score for it this is a fairly unique and good example of audio editing.

as a "music video" though it doesn't really work out.

I say keep it on the site, as it is something different, which around here is usually appreciated.

Thanks Fall_Child42,

I am somewhat reassured by your reply but on reflection I do genuinely think I made a mistake posting it and out of respect for the video artists that do amazing work on this site I consider that it should really be removed and have made a request to do so.

Yes I did write the music specifically for it.

I'm glad you found it interesting and it's heartning to hear you found it enjoyable - which was it's intention. The original Star Light Angel, which you see in it's original uncut form, is also an entirely instrumental piece.

I'm a true anime fan and I did this piece purely out of love for it and I certainly don't want to attract any kind of negativity to it and I really don't want to upset the vibe of this great site.

Anyway, once again thanks for your positive feedback.

Chris.
