Need to compress, I guess......
Well, I'm using Vegas, and my vid is about 10 sec long, but has 810 mo!
I'm using my deinterlaced ripped file, but I guess I have to compress them.
Can someone tell me how do I compress my .avs file?
Thanks

Ok, you're going to have to elaborate a lot more here. And what do you mean by 810 "mo"? I assume that's a typo and you mean MB, in which case I assume you mean that when you export your video from Vegas it's 810 MB, in which case you'll have to tell us your export settings.
You can't compress an .avs file, the file is probably only a few KB in size because it's technically a text file.
So, like I said...elaborate.

why are you solving his language problems?
i think i know where is his problem.
default Export setings on vegas goes like Uncompressed NTSC DV file,720*480 pixels,32 bit,29,970i FPS, 0,909 Aspect Ratio, Lower Fields First (Fields Order), and 48 000 Hz PCM Uncompressed Audio.
at least it was like that on my Vegas until i changed it. Uncompressed video Export is changeable in all Options, like FPS,Aspect Ratio, size and etc.
when i'm exporting ucompressed file from Vegas with those settings,my 30 secs vid becomes like 1.1 GB. and when i export with that NTSC DV thingy,it suddenly becomes 2,10 GB , and despites that,XviD exported file had much better view, since that NTSC DV instead of simple pixels, uses LINES! that is sure not a good thing if you use a lot of effects - believe me,i waited for 3 hours to export my 1:16 lenght vid (it took 4GB of free space o.O) adn guess what? it was such a crap that i deleted it after seeing how crappy all effects, and whole vid looked like. then i made Uncompressed version - it took me 1 and half of hour, 2GB of space, and gave me wonderful quality!
Moral? Always check your Export Setings in Vegas! If you want to export Uncompressed, never, I say to you - NEVER LEAVE IT EXPORT AS DEFAULTED NTSC DV!
better to choose to Export in : "Default Template (uncompressed)"
so that's what i think.
damn i'm starting to write too long and pointless posts

Thank for the info, raptor. I'll check that out.
Yeah, I wasn't so clear, so I'll explain again.
I ripped my DVD files (.VOB and damn they are big!) Then, I put them and arranged them on VDub (deinterlacing, etc)<--the files are still taking a lot of space! Then, I use a converter software (Super, so don't laugh at me

Now, I'm using my latest converted . avi files in Vegas, but a 10 sec long video= still 1gb!
Help! (But I'll test what rapture said)

It sounds like you're exporting uncompressed. Try using a lossless codec, such as HuffYUV or Lagarith, instead.primeking wrote:Now, I'm using my latest converted . avi files in Vegas, but a 10 sec long video= still 1gb!

More on that here (for an older version of Vegas, at least):

Whoa!!! and a-m-v.org can support such a big upload????BasharOfTheAges wrote:Your experience is typical if not small for that much video. Editing sometimes takes up a lot of HDD space. My clip folder for my last project is over 60GB. That's not how big your damned export is going to be, so stop worrying.
Usually, I put my vid on my amv and youtube account, but oh well, I'll forget for the you-tube part.
I tried it already, scintilla. But after 4 gb, it says that I reach the limits or something like that.

No, it can't. You'd take the huge file from Vegas and compress it to a more reasonable size with another program, such as VirtualDub(/Mod), and a codec meant for distribution, such as XviD or DivX.primeking wrote:Whoa!!! and a-m-v.org can support such a big upload????BasharOfTheAges wrote:Your experience is typical if not small for that much video.
