Main anime characters you think would make good leaders...

The Major from Ghost in the Shell/GitS: Stand Alone Complex. 'nuff said.

Full Metal Panic!/FMP! TSR has some great moments from Tessa and her XO Cmdr. Mardukas. Melissa Mao is pretty good too.

For an underrated villain leader - Raoh the Conqueror from Fist of the North Star.

The man came pretty damned close to uniting the post-apocalypse world completely under his rule. The guy's certainly no slouch.

For good characters...
So far I think, given what you've said, really can't top Willen's pick.
Kusanagi's actually a damned good choice with those requirements.

Kazuma from Scryed is definate leader material (if he wasn't a loner) you could get some good clips out of him.

make it a comedy... make a team lead by ryoga... they're lost with him and lost without him..

but as for the best leader... you cant beat gendo.... he has all the best leader poses...

as for female leaders.. if you dont wanna get one from eva... then i guess i would go for Lafiel as well... i'd take orders from her...

Cloud Clone-I've already got a spot for woolfwood. He's facing off against Anderson from Hellsing.

AMV_4000 (or anyone else who can answer)-what anime are ryoga, gendo, and Ladiel from?

With regards to Kalium and Cornwiggles suggestions for Scryed characters, I have to admit, I can definitely see both Ryuho and Kazuma fitting the role based off their character designs alone. As far as age, appearance, and popularity are concerned, they're pretty much perfect for what I'm looking for. I'll have to re watch the anime to see if the personality matches up as well.

Once again, thanks everyone for your help thus far. More recommendations are always welcomed.

also The Origonal Head Hunter, I'm already using Seph. I made a funny little scene where he's chasing Mugen down some stairs. I've got to redo the cut outs, but it'll look nice once it's done.

I've always LOVED Abelia from Now and Then Here and There, because I think she is the MOST level headed character (leader) in ALL of anime.
