What is a hit, exactly?

I'm not sure if I'm asking in the right place, but...

What exactly constitutes a hit in your video profile? Is it the number of page views your vid gets? And if so, does it only count a user viewing the page once? Or has it also counted repeat visits?

I've noticed that most people's vid have a star count about 10% of their hit count. Why are all these people looking at my page and not dl'ing my vid? Am I not good enough for them!? Is that what they think!?!? The audacity of some people!

I think I'd better get some sleep...

When they visit the video profile. It counts it every time you visit, though there may be a small delay to prevent hitting refresh over and over.

Nope. Not good enough. Make something somebody wants to watch first. And no, I have not raised your hit count.

I had a relative go crazy refreshing the page for certain vids (including one of my old ones) once because he was bored...

Hits just count how often your info page was visited. That is all. And yes, your own account will not raise hits.

Don't know why anyone would want to raise their hits though, if you have a vid that only has 7 downloads and you hit it until it says 2000+ hits. Anyone who can see stars will be like "Woah this vid must really suck, over 2000 hits and 7 downloads"
