Perhaps warnings should have been given out to the member that racism was unacceptable and innapropriate (if warnings weren't given), as well as deleting all the spam that was cropping up because of it. Racism is an ulgy thing, and it provokes less than civilized responses, so if people didn't deal with him well, that was probably a part of it. Perhaps I'm overreacting to the whole situation, but I also feel it is something that needs to be discussed.

Ah... this guy...

I think he's making the rounds in anime forums. He was banned from the Anime Academy forums probably no more than a month ago, pretty much within the span of a day. I don't think a temp ban was even issued.

The lag? As in time lag? The guy joined 2 days ago and he's already been banned. That strikes me as pretty quick compared to how long guys like Sammy and Mhatter were left roaming the forums. ^_^;

Yeah, I'm still thinking in terms of "it took you months to figure out he was a troll?" and not "why did you let this new guy run around for a day instead of banning him instantly?" One day, two days - it still seems like a short amount of time to me.

I think 2 days is a good minimum for banning in this case. The guy didn't spam all over the forum - he mostly stayed in his own threads and made an attempt to be ontopic. One day, maybe, if he was all over the place in a few short hours and you confronted him and he didn't stop. Anything under that should be limited to spambots, flamers, and people who post repeat threads in every section of the forum just because they can.

This guy could have used an insta-ban. But I don't want to support snap judgments for every new member who screws up the first time he posts here.

I found no less than 5 more forums where our ASIAN friend has been with posts that were complete copypasta. He raided the Anime Academy, Animenation, Animesuki, Otakuworks and Playstation forums making the EXACT same post patterns, using the EXACT same pictures and making the EXACT same retorts to people confronting him.

Had he not been banned, you would have seen precisely this post next:
