Curious as to why phantom of the opera isn't considered one of kevin's best works... To be perfectly honest.. to me seeing as how i like opera style music set to video, that amv is extremely rewatchable. Not to mention it's very artistic. If amv's were to be considered an art, that amv would be the one first on my list. There isn't any FX simply because it doesn't need any. It accomplishes it's goal without them. The mood setting, ambience, emotions... It's all there. It's a prime example of tight and basic yet enjoyable editing style that anyone can do to create a great amv. Anyways that's just my 2 cents.

Nice list tho, I need to check up on some of the ones I haven't heard of.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

I just noticed that CHIHUAHUA! has gone unmentioned. This makes me sad, because it's a great video. :(

Hmm surprised "Eden" isn't mentioned, it's the best 'oldest' video I have. One of the only AMVs which actually make me feel something on an emotional level.

Gawd I remember having that song stuck in my head for like 3 weeks. It drove me crazy in class when I couldn't concentrate because it was invading my thoughts.

I reckon it's a very good list... We can't include all the good videos out there for something which is meant to be introductory in nature, that's defeating the purpose. But this list is good in that it covers just about most of what should be carefully considered by editors new and old.

Oh yeah, what about trailers? If you're thinking of including one or two, I suggest:

and

I remember tons more good ones coming out in 2002-2003, but I can't remember most of them. And I guess the recommendation thread covers these anyway.

Perhaps I should mention that I sent the list to admin@animemusicvideos.org the other day. I added Eden and CHIHUAHUA! to the list because both were pretty well done but otherwise it's exactly what I posted.

The reason Believe (or Caffeine Encomium which is actually my favorite Caldwell vid) didn't make the list is that in order to keep it short I didn't list more than one from any editor. In the eyes of most Caldwells best video is Engel, and it is a very good video, so that's what I went with.
