  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

That's something I always tip my hat off to when the message is brought out with the fine use of lyrics. Many of today's videos completely drop that out and go for the fancy visual appeal.
Thanks. :)

I'm a little surprised no one mentioned the lip synch yet in this thread, that has had to be a bit funky for some people, it's quite a challenge to do in this anime imo, I even had to do a lot of masking in certain areas and I reversed the clips in certain areas. At area 1:04, he's originally moving his head around a lot when he's moving his arms. I had 2 masks in this scene.
I would have mentioned the lyric sync, but I felt it was quite obvious and I don't usually point out the obvious. I'm too subtle for that. And well, I'm a lazy bastard. :P

I mentioned it in the op >_>

If anything, you did do a good job with the vocals (not just the lyrics) and guitar lines. Naturally, of course, props on the song choice and following through with the whole idea - the sources fit together nicely and you keep them together nicely without going into 'pure action' mode.
I'm glad you noticed the things I hope people will notice. I feel some people watch a video and only see beats, they don't notice anything else and that that would be the downfall of the video. People with a keen eye and natural sense of synch seem to see what I was going for.
QC: "the sync sucked :/"

See, what did I say?

gah!! OK, forget that last QC, that was for another video.. *slaps head* It was to my remaster video, well it's about an exact duplicate so really that kinda bounces off of me, since the edits are not originally mine.

ha! thnx! ^^

stupid anonymous users!! :x

well, someone said..

"Did I notice Rainbowing around the hard lines? I really expect a higher visual qaulity out of you ...."

just incase he runs into this thread here, I'll say what is up with any quality issues anyone may have noticed..

I used no filters. None. Didn't even deinterlace since most of the source is progressive(go frame by frame, only little blending due to some speed ups actually)

I did clean up the quality but then decided fuck it, I wanted a gritty look. I got rid of all noise, rainbow effects, etc through filtering, but I went ahead and took it out because I wasn't satisfied with the export. Sorry dude, I didn't know anyone had expectations from me. Just watch Reiterate to Irritate, sometimes I just don't care about filtering.

Besides, I've already had some good comments on the visual quality, it looks really good with the two pass mode done to it, and with it's fast motion, really i doubt many people would notice any issues except for it getting blocky in some places. I personally haven't seen a better looking akira video, except maybe when I found it in various anime amvs done by Pwolf and Jebadia.
I never would have guessed it was unfiltered. Looked damn good in my eye.

Good compression! XP Also it wasn't that bad looking to begin with. The comment wasn't that bad to begin with, he just says he expects better from me, so getting my panties in a bunch over it was a bit childish of me.

I'm going to reupload with a fixed audio version. :? This was the highest rated video of mine star wise, I had a 3.67 from 40 star ratings given, now after 11 more, it has dropped to a 3.2. :? And I've had a flood of quick comments saying it sucks because of that ONE fucking split second in the audio. Don't download this one, I've decided I'm going to replace it with a new one and I'll report back when the new one is up. So DON'T DOWNLOAD IT!

If the deletion request goes through I should have it up by tomorrow night. Unappreciative bastards! One weird edit and all these people depreciate the whole entire video because of it. At least some people could look past that one piece and appreciate the other things about the video. Thanks for your time and good night.

You definitely made Akira work well with this song. Lots of good lyrical synch too. Nice work.

It's been almost a week since this was taken off. I decided to keep it the way it is and f*** anyones opinion of the curent version. I was going to a have that one fixed audio version plus a lot better quality version of the video but the files in the video project got messed up. I did export a fixed version of the audio before that happen, and after messing with some filters decided to make it mp4 which needed a higher aspect ratio but shortly deciding that, I found out I'd have to redo a lot of the video(f that). It could of been easy since I used avisynth and could of just done a bait and switch to make a bigger aspect ratio and I wasn't going to upscale it.

I was deciding to go ahead and go through a lot of this work to fix this, but then realizing I was getting worked up over what others thought, even though I was satisfied, the idea of that audio edit was being fried into my brain, even with a fixed audio version it seems to make little difference to me, and over all I like exactly how the original looks with it's imperfections, and pause, breather moment with that awkward edit, it kinda cuts the video into two part in a way, though I like that for some reason, and the visual quality goes good with the old song and feeling of the song IMO(looked worse in my eyes when I fixed the quality.)

This is the fastest downloaded amv of mine and the worst rated video of mine from an over 50+ star reviews, so decided isn't worth going through all the trouble. I realize star reviews don't matter as much as I thought they did, this is rated lower than a video I only spent an hour on, and my first video.

I've been told by brother over and over to not care about user reviews so much. I mean this world is full of people who will know(not think) to themselves about most shows wether they suck or not based on one episode, lyric hungry bastards that for some reason need it in a song to enjoy it(you wont believe how many times I've had someone tell me they don't like a song because of no lyrics), and people that dislike things that are a lot a like the thing they are fanboys about(ever heard of system wars? I liked each system I've owned by nintendo, sony, sega and microsoft) and a majoity of folks that believe in sky daddies.

So really I shouldn't care all that much, I don't care if this video gets a 1, it'll just make my point more clearer. Even if someone told me they thought it was the worst vid I made, it would just make me care less about what others think about my videos and will help me focus more on what I want with a video and what I think is good. I kinda understand those who say they make videos for themselves more, I mean it's about bringing your ideas to life and satisfying yourself with the things you try to bring forward. So onwards! I'm actually thinking of making a linkin park video now that I don't care what others would think about it. If you don't like it, fudge ya! lol.. Look forward to it! (or not, hehe)

Anyway, thnx everyone who has watched it and left feedback.
