made an amv after a long time.....
watch it,

heres the story line....

Story Line:
-one day the Nazis attack Ayato home town (00:19 – 00:32)
-the Japanese fight back but they are no match for the Nazi’s state of the art stuff (00:25 – 00:32)
-so RahXephon is born out of an egg to help beat the Nazis (00:32 – 00:34)
-the Nazis capture Ayato and hold him hostage but Haruka Shitow saves him (00:34 – 00:38)
-then Reika Mishima leads Ayato to RahXephon (00:45)
-Ayato's mom is watching TV, omg lazy (00:49)
-Ayato gets in RahXephon (00:54)
-Then he fights the Nazis (1:07)
-ooo nooo thers too many of them, Ayato goes nuts (1:21)
-then RahXephon goes nuts, and some crazy shit happens (1:23)
-RahXephon gets super power and kills one of the Nazi commanders (1:39)
-The Nazis continue ther attack after taking a 5 min break (1:52)
-ooo noo they look like they regenerated and many of Ayato's friends are dying (2:02)
-Ayato gets angry (2:05)
-OMG the Nazis are too powerful (2:22-2:37)
-Ayato looses it and falls asleep right after (2:37-2:39)
-after Ayato falls asleep he sees Reika Mishima and she telepathically tells him to join the dark side, and he does (2:39-2:53)
-Ayato turns evil and beats the fuk out of the Nazi and the Nazi falls down (2:53-3:08)
-Ayato beats many, many Nazis
-Finally after beating all the Nazis Ayato realises in the process he also has destroyed the whole world and he’s the only one alive

I like these kind of amvs. It was a lot better from what i expected. You had some problems with syncing, and i think some effects didn't really match the song beats, but not bad at all. Good work!

Apart from that:

- Footage quality is horrible. While it may not look like arse, the quality for file size ratio is crap. The video obviously wasn't made in WMM, depite the WMV format, so you should have had much better compression options. 93mb for this quality is pretty over-the-top. I'm guessing either your footage wasn't DVD, or you lost a lot of visual quality in the compression to get under 100megs because you didnt compress your audio. Either way.

- There is no feeling of connection between the sources.

- The synch is pretty bland, considering how many good beats you leave out in favour of synching minor beats with effects.

- Seriously. You're using someone elses trademark. Hexagons? And those wierd coloured polygons from NTB? Not to mention the dots from BTB. Come on man. You even used a song that Decoy has also edited to. Its like you watched 3 of his videos and went "wait a minute...."

- The rotoscope/mask of Ayato in the Rahxephon with scenes happening outside the Xephon is off. The image is too high by about 2 pixels, so you can see all the background clips happening at the bottom of the screen : \

- You also used the Hexagons that move in and out of the screen on the sides as a visualisation of the music, a la Euphoria

I'm not saying this to be rude, but: seriously, take a look at what you're doing, because this video is pretty much a carbon copy of 3 other videos out there, taking their components, doing them almost exactly the same, just with different sources. Its not a bad idea to borrow ideas from other videos, as long as you incorporate them and change them in your own unique way to fit the sources you choose.

This for me was just a lower quality rehash of what i've already seen in NTB.

forgot to post my little review last night.

it's like a rectangle had sex with a hexagon. it's the bastard child of euphoria and NTB, and then named the baby after Ryno's vid to this song.

really, i thought it was tolerable.
what keeps me from giving this anything higher than a 2 though, is that on about a dozen occasions, your focal point was a fucking shape instead of the footage.

without whoring up the effects this much, this could have easily been a 4. your gonna have to settle for a 2/5 from me though

I don't think that you had to be that harsh Prodigi, just because Decoy made the "parent" videos of this in such a different level, you can't really compare them to this. Besides, what if he mimics Decoy's effects? He didn't say that they are original, anyway. Yeah, the footage quality is kinda low for a big file size like that. Hm, i think 3/5 is okay for this. :/

There is "mimic"ing as you say, then there is reproducing an effect piece by piece, exactly the same, just timed *slightly* different because of the different song, and with a different video clip as footage. This video is designed around effects, not around the footage.

Look at it this way:
Person A creates a video that's designed around the matchup between song and anime. Person B then copies their video almost identically, minus a few clip changes, and then adds some effects to it. Is this ripping off Person A's video? Yes.

So, therefore:

Person A creates a video that's designed around the effects of the video. Person B then copies their effects layout and synch almost identically, minus a few timings, and then changes the base clips. It's still ripping off Person A. Just because we're talking effects instead of clip edits doesn't change what it is.

lol u guys take this shit too seriously, i just make amvs for fun cause i made this is less then 10 hours, and i used the same fx they used because i liked how it looks. the quality is crap because i rendered it lower quality to get it under 100mb, thats why someone the parts are off.
