Ok newb Question: Where do the studios come from?

Ok this is probally a real newb question but here goes: All the studios that some folks have on here ....Are they just ones they made up or are they like a bonafide buisness? Im a bit Dain Bramaged so i just dont know some one tune me in and be kind....hehe

I don't know of one studio here that's actually a "business"...almost all of them are groups of editors that know each other in some way, whether it be through the .org or in real life (or both), or whatever.

There's no physical RDS building...yet

a studio can be a real business (though not amny businesses would want to openly associate themselves with a not quite legal community), more than one person...or just one person who wants a cool name to associate with their videos (the majority of studios fall under the latter category)

...and there should be an RDS building, why can't RDS replace Williams Street?

mine was an excuse for me and superfusion to have webspace to store stuff.
from there, we just picked up a couple of editors who happened to not suck, and lived in florida.

And they seem to also adopt quite often...

As for my studio? It's a one-man operation that I use 'cuz it adds a little more polish to my videos (and god knows that my videos need more polish).
