why do you have to be all up my ass all the time?
Wow, I like how "once" turns into "all the time". ;p

No, it just seems like a waste of the mods' time being emailed a question that's already been answered. This question has been asked a lot, and the answer is always the same. Plus, I'm honestly curious why you do that - the whole, email them directly thing. I'm sort of hoping now you'll PM the next person (and tell her to "email them directly") instead of telling them on the forum where everyone can see it. Suggesting openly that members can get around the rules by emailing the mods just seems like a really bad idea no matter how I look at it. Not to mention I have this whole thing about open preferential treatment and thanks to your post that last thread was locked before I could comment.

8-).... no sweat in this thread ;)

well I have a friend that she ask me How to get rid off her acct. and she also ask here someone but they both say "it can not be easy" for a request of deletion user acct. here. Then until now she never log in but I don't know if she got another one <_<?

Like what Minion said he must be have to do to get banned or remove in the forum or even in the site. Though your illiterate if you go in that way (no offense if I say that).

Well did you know if you email the Admin and if you have a valid reason they really remove your acct. just like that? Still my friend did that and until now she's have an acct. here so I'll go what Arigatomina say "If you don't want the account, don't use it" to say in short. ;)

Though you did not know who's the AMV thief in the site if they make a brand new?

1. Black_Pearl_Rainne - stay out of drama that isnt yours please... it will only cause more if you butt in.

2. if its a waste of an email, because its been asked so many times (sorry this is the second one ive come across, ive only recently become active in this area, and the first one seemed like a reasonable request as for her reasons why...)

then lets make a stickie about "deleting accounts" and just tell them that the answer is "no" and give the reasons why...

granted people will still more than likely still post the question but then it can be answered by people responding with "read this stickie" and then people wont have to have silly discussions on it (which is what i think should be avoided... causes drama alot of the time)

ps. I didnt see anything in the FAQ
the only thing in there pertaining to "deleting" is "deleting a video entry"

so its no wonder people keep asking this question :/

That would be a really good place to put it. :?

This question comes up pretty often, but it never stays on the page long. I would look for some links, but I can't remember the last time an actual *mod* replied to one of these threads. It might have been over a year ago. Regular members get to the thread quicker since we have no lives or forum responsibilities.

oh and i suggest it because its a question for someone with power on this site to answer... (since its not in FAQ, or a stickie)

and SOME forum regulars seem to like to make random or oddball suggestions... (get yourself banned :/ or say you are under 13 w/o parents permission)

in this case i did it because they werent really getting a straight answer, no one had come in to say "no we dont do that around here" and i posted that because
1. i didnt have a straight answer
and 2. that would be the "fastest way" to get a straight answer.

if we had a stickie or a FAQ on it then it would be easier for the regulars to give a straight answer.

That's very gud idea if admin or moderator put a sticky "No Request for Acct. Deletion" up here and the're will look that instead to keep posting here randomly.

First of all thanks for the posts and discussion, although it has filled this thread with a lot of off-topic and repeated material.

I am well aware that on such a large forum such as this that mods and admins don't have the time to deal with personal requests from everyone, which is why I was asking the general users if there was a way to delete my account from my end of the server.

It appears there isn't (or at least no-one that has read some of this topic knows of one).

What I would suggest is that there are almost certainly many people such as I that have never posted, or only posted once or twice since they joined (at that was probably many months ago). My account wasn't accessed again for a long period of time until now. Eventually, there will be a benefit from sorting the server so all those who haven't accessed the server within the last 6 or 12 months have their accounts deleted.
JaddziaDaz wrote:if there IS a viable reason for the deleted account, why not save the tiny bit of server space
This may be a larger server space than you expect when you include avatars, signitures and profile information.

i dont think that this is a good solution at all, because some people who havent accessed their accounts DO sometimes come back after long periods of time, and if they wanted an account again they would have to create a whole new one...

then there is also the number of people who have videos that havent accessed their accounts in a year, only to come back more inspired... (plus they have videos, their accounts CANT be deleted as per the mission statement of this site)
