I've been seriously considering Linux too. Might have to check it out once it's finished.

You're just making up excuses Flint. Dual boot with Linux. Even if this app isn't available, there are more than enough of other Linux FOSS.

...and back on topic --

I'm paging through their packages list, as well as their "to package" list. The thing reads like a who's who of the most popular and powerful Free/Open Source multimedia applications, which is pretty good -- I'd guess the people behind this project keep up with the state of the field :)

If they can pair those applications with good documentation, Ubuntu's general slickness, and get some good speed tweaks in, this could be big.

I might even be motivated to finish my long-dead AMV on Linux guide :P (hah, yeah right)
