lol
first time on this thing but, yeah, just watched all the way up to ep 14 and all i could say was "Woah..." Mai is so-far my ultimate fav. btw, did anyone notice that when sayuri said she could no longer smile, she hid her wrist? right befor her other hand covers it, there are scars! so sayuri used to be emo! omg. and hopefully no spoilers, since i have never watched the original anime or played the game. =P. Kanon is just too asweome. i'm not sure which would be the best out of Air, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, or this. I'll be putting my vote on this, since the other two didn't really have an ending i liked a lot, and plus, this is 12 episodes longer. go MAI! kick those demons...buts...

I just watched over the first episode of Kanon on the R2 DVD, (beautiful progressive footage btw
) and notice a bunch of stuff I didn't notice before on the sub, probably because I was too busy paying attention to the subs ;p But they actually introduced almost all the chars in the first episode. Even Sayuri is seen walking in past Yuuichi and Nayuki in the background talking to another older woman, maybe her mom? I think the only girl I did not see was Amano.
Also I think that musical composition that plays in the cafe where Yuuichi and Ayu go to hide is an actual piece also called Kanon.
And I have to say since I havn't said it yet, that scene with mai crying and going berserk has to be the best animation I've seen in a loooong time.
At the rate this series is going, it will be possible to make very powerful amvs to all the girls stories in this series

Kyoto animation's attention to detail never fails to amaze me.SpoilerGuard wrote:Mokoto did not appear as a girl, but maybe that fox that Nayuki tries to catch might be her?

Episode 15 concludes Mai's story with a BANG!

I was ready to cry out like a baby when Mai committed suicide by sticking her sword onto her stomach. Thank goodness the chibi Mai who has the power to heal saved her.
We really learned a lot about Mai's past, and what the demons were really are (which by the way was a figment of her imagination). Heck, the field where Yuuichi and Mai used to play with was actually where the school was located. I thought it was really interesting that she has the ability to heal, but a bunch of people still feared her.

Kyo ani expanded on her arc alot more than the original Toei animation version did. Its to be expected since its now 26 episodes, but I rather liked the changes.actually its more like she was creating the demons to fight against just to uphold her promise that she'd keep defending that field till he returned. (Without realizing it herself) The school was built on that field, so the school became the battleground. I think originally the people tearing up the field to build the school was what she was calling demons, though I could be wrong.
Next we get to see Sayuri's story, yay!
