No, that's just the people who talk a lot on the forum.godix wrote:One is a site full of mostly college age people who are experienced at AMVs, have seen a lot of AMVs, and do AMVs themselves so they can tell what requires hard work and what doesn't.
I'm glad somebody mentioned this point.godix wrote:Plus as others have said stars are not required on one site while they are on the other. On that basis alone a fairer comparison would be between the orgs op system and their star system. Lets glance at the op system averages. Hmm, seems that every category but one is over an 8 average. 8 out of 10 average given on the optional rating system here. 4 out of 5 average given on the optional rating there. Sounds like the scores are pretty similar regardless of the site when, for the most part, only people who like the video are giving scores.

whoever the jerk who said this guy sucks was, don't be so harsh, can't someone make an amv because they want to have fun regardless as to whether they're good or bad. If you think there's someone who makes bad amvs than give them some tips on how to improve rather than just shutting them down. Isn't this whole thing about people who just give empty comments and not critic on the editing, here you are doing the exact samething

My opinion is that you are expected to give good ratings on Youtube. If I see an AMV that I think isn't very good, then I don't rate it. If I see a vid with potential or a song I adore then I give constructive criticism like 'have you even looked at the lyrics for this song? I think you've kinda missed the meaning'. I've noticed that my most popular video on there is one that I did for a laugh but the song was extremely popular at the time and I used a popular anime (well, video game). Rare anime and rare songs don't do well on Youtube unless they're incredibly well made.

<--- my 2 cents here so ....
This is compaireing apples to oranges, in essence. Youtube ( I have no CLUE where this Boochsack nonsense came from ) is an outlet for all sorts of stuff: TV shows, family clips, smut, anime, AMV's and MV's that have no anime in them. Obviously you'll have people who have no clue sometimes what anim even is and they'll watch something and go "sweet jeebus, thats awsome". I've put my few vids on there as a way for some of my friends with poor internet connections to watch my stuff and not have to worry about breaking their families download times. Ironically none of them have ever been commented on, good or bad.
HERE ( at the .org ) you have a focused, purpose-driven, and some-what professional group of 20-somethings who arent 13-16 as a target audience so ... yea ... the stuff you'll see on Youtube is gonna be at a lower standard simply because here we expect that. Thats WHY were all here isnt it?
Stuff on the Tube is mainstream, its unfocused, its generic but I have found some awsome stuff here so its also where some editors put stuff mabye they know people cane go and download doe whatever reason.

I think getting peeved or annoyed, or whatever, about what goes on at another site with diffrent standards, target age ranges, and ideas for whats good or bad than what goes on here is a little silly
Again, my 2 cents and thanks for listening
