AMV Podcasting might be a good thing to try. I know Podcasts have been around for a while, but I've only now started listening (and watching) these things from The TWiT Broadcast w/ Leo Laporte and The CreativeCOW.net Podcasts. I think if the recording quality and subject matter are good, it will catch on.

What exactly would you do with an AIDS infested dildo anyway?Minion wrote:mine's a followup to godix's.
can i have your stuff?
To treat the topic somewhat seriously here's some questions that might spark a discussion
1) What is the single most common mistake you see done in AMVs and how do people correct that mistake?
2) How do you use effects in a video without ending up as an effects whore? Decoy might not be the person to ask on this one.
3) So can AMVs get you some pussy?
4) What are the relative advantages and disadvantages of Premiere, AE, WMM, Magix, and whatever other editing software you happen to know.
5) Minion - the single biggest misuse of sperm since Lewinsky decorated her dress with the stuff or just your average idiot?
6) How do you use slow clips and simple editing without making it boring as shit? Again, decoy might not be the right person to ask on this one.

That's kind of mean to say. Who here has not sucked with their first amv? Give people a break. Why don't you try helping them instead of trying to tear them down? I doubt your amv was a colassal hit the first time out. My first amv was terrible. I cringe when I see it but you know what, I'm also proud of it.Esrhan wrote:May I suggest a theme for your first podcast? It would all be embedded in the thought of "how to kill the non-stop, constant input of crappy amvs based on Naruto, Final Fantasy and Dragonball - while still encouraging new editors to do their best."
Oh well, I hope you'll have fun with this project.
Also you bought up another interesting point, what's wrong with Naruto, Dragonball, EVA or Final Fantasy? I mean really. Of course there are a lot of videos that are less then quality with these animes in there but then people always find new animes to beat to death like for instance AZUMANGA DAIOH, Pretear, Bleach or GARSAKI for instance.
It's not the anime. It's not even what you make it with. It who is making the video and how they present it.
Truly, who is anyone to tell any video creator what animes that they should and should not use. Who has the right to even condemn the right to blast certain animes!
Let's not forget some of the best amv's of all time have been made with the above mentioned animes and some of the worst amv's have also been made with them too.
So, what's the problem with that? While we're at it, let's also say everyone who has ever used Linkin Park should be ostracized as well.
That's just plain ignorance to blast an amv creator based on the anime that they use.
