Show your goods at Anime at the Alamo
While it's not a contest per say, I can't think of a better place on the boards to put it.
I run an event at the Alamo Drafthouse in San Antonio, TX , called Anime at the Alamo. We're sponsored by ADV and we show all sorts of free anime every Monday night at 7:30 (central time). We've been running all sorts of preshows for people who get there early (and people normally get there around an hour early to get a seat), but none of the preshows in the past have been even remotely anime-related.
That's where I'm hoping some of you could come in. We want to show quality AMV's before our main show so the Anime fans of San Antonio aren't forced to watch non-sequitor films about old people dancing before getting a face-full of mind-melters like Gantz or Elfen Lied.
If you have some good AMV's you personally have created and you want to have that warm feeling of "someone's watching my AMVs which I've spent my blood sweat and tears creating", give me an e-mail (thatsmytrunks@gmail.com), or contact me via AIM (BlackJackTrunks), or simply post some links to stuff you've got right here in this thread.
Please make sure that they're high enough quality that when displayed on a full cinema screen that it won't look like total poop, and also remember that we're not doing this to make money, we're doing it to entertain an audience, and we aren't generating any money through this.
If you live in the San Antonio area, feel free to check out the Alamo Drafthouse website at http://alamodrafthouse.com/

Re: Show your goods at Anime at the Alamo
I actually already spoke with Adrian Rivera at the drafthouse and am there just about every day for my lunch break. I gave him some DVD's of several AMV projects many of us did over the past few years and he said he was working on getting them shown sometime soon. Feel free to use any of my work in addition to the projects. I can burn some MPEG2's of everything and drop them off if you'd like...ThatsMyTrunks wrote:While it's not a contest per say, I can't think of a better place on the boards to put it.

Hope they start doing this at the ones in Houston and Katy, too.
Next time I'm in San Antonio visiting, I might have to stop by!
I will PM you some links as soon as I have the higher-end versions uploaded. You're welcome to anything on my profile.

Re: Show your goods at Anime at the Alamo
Actually, that's exactly what sparked this thread. Adrian sent me the e-mail about it, and he said he's gonna let me check out the DVDs on Monday.mexicanjunior wrote:I actually already spoke with Adrian Rivera at the drafthouse and am there just about every day for my lunch break. But it's great that everyone here seems to like the Drafthouse. It really is a wonderful place to just chill at. Good eats and flicks, etc.
