I've been folowing the manga for this for the past couple of weeks, and I must say, this has the potential to be awesome. I love the manga so far, and from what I've seen from the first 3 episodes of the anime, it does seem to be following the manga pretty closely. The art is pretty good, but the action so far seems a little nondinamic, sorta like Bleach's anime. I hope the more dynamic fight scenes later on are animated more than these first few where, ofcourse though, these first fights were pretty short in the manga too, so maybe I just need to wait and see.

Anyway, the story is very strongly based off of biblical refrences, somewhat like Chrono crusade was, although this is an entirely different take on it. The main character, Allen Walker, reminds me quite a bit of Ed from Full metal Alchemist, very similar look and almost identical personality.

The Plot:

The Akuma, creations of the earl of the melinium, who seems to seeks the destruction of all humanity and create a world of Akuma, for who knows why, the Earl's real intentions are still somewhat shrowded in mystery. The Exorcists, Exist to fight these Akuma using the power of Innocence, supposedly a power given by god to his deciples for the purpose of fighting the earl and his army of Akuma. The Akuma on the otherhand, is a mechanical weapon that use the power of Darkmatter attached to a persons soul as its power source. The darkmatter is poisonous to all humans, and only the Innocence can resist it. There are Equipment type innocence and parasitic types, Allens is the latter, meaning it is inside his body (his left hand to be precise) rather than a weapon or clothing or accessory. The Parasitic types are rare, but have more potential than the equipment types.

I'm more closely following the manga for this than the anime, but I decided to get it in case of AMV material, so I'll be following this one aswell ;p

I beleive this has the potential to be right up there with Bleach, chrono crusade, etc.

imo, D.Grey Man is much better than Bleach.

My only complaint is that in the anime, Allen goes between being drawn correctly and being drawn slightly off.....I swear it varies between episodes. Is it just me?

But really, that aside, the show is great. Defenately one of my favorites as of now.

Actually I meant in popularity not quality ;p Its well known fact that bleach anime is not that great quality, shows like naruto have much better animation quality, I agree D-greyman's quality of animation is much better. So far at least.

I sure hope so.

I'm not familiar with the manga, but I was amused with the first episode and I've heard good things about the series in general. I'll poke around for a bit and see how it goes

Episode 5 was a pleasant surprise. The story between Lala and Gozaru was done well, especially with the emotional aspects, and stayed true to the manga. I'm looking forward to how the anime develops the rest of the chapters, especially the Meranda arc, since I rather like her as a character ;p

Soon we shall be treated with some Rinali action, as she will be paired with Allen in the next mission :D

well, we get a little taste of Rinali's awesomeness in this episode, though the good stuff is yet to come ;p

One thing I like about this series (at least so far in the manga is at), is all the characters are pretty much useful, each either being strong enough to compete with the main character, or having a special ability that makes them important strategically, unlike so many other shounen series where 1 or 2 way overpower the others, and the 2 female chars are pretty much useless for most of it (not naming any names....especially not one starting with a N.... ) I hope they continue like that.

I think this shows gonna be pretty awesome. I read the preview for the manga in SJ and I just recently watched the first two episodes. I love Allen's character (he DOES seem like Ed lol.) I'm really stuck on the theme song and I was wondering if anyone could tell me who sings it. It kinda sounds like TM, but thats just me.
