Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I would like to know if I have managed to improve. Please?

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=131422

I have spent most of the last week reading the guides (helpful things, btw) and reconstructing the video from the ground up. Now, I think, it is a lot better - not that that wouldn't've been hard.

It's edited to be much, MUCH tighter with the song, now. I wasn't sure whether the convention was to have cuts on words or on beats of the music, and action on words or beats, so I did a lot of both.

I had to do a bit of looping to make the action match the words - I'm not very pleased with the first loop, but there's a moving background, moving hair, moving foot action, and a zoom out... I did the best I could.

I got rid of all but one subtitle - when I cropped it the clip literally did NOT work at all, so it's still in there. But it's a white subtitle on white background, so it's hardly noticable.

I'm quite proud of the lip synching. I didn't go overboard, just in 4 places, but it's done reasonably well, I think.

I like what I did with the bridge.

The only thing I am REALLY displeased with is the ending scene betwixt Neji and his uncle; I may go back in there and add in subtitles (not the ORIGINAL subtitles, but properly chosen quotes to match the pace of the scene) so that the subtext of the scene isn't lost entirely.

Is that a bad thing to do?

If I were to re-edit any portion of it (which I am NOT going to, it's time for a new project) I would tighten up the portion just before where Naruto's getting the bejesus beaten out of him, when Naruto gets whirled the first time. It's a little too loose for my taste.

Wonky things - for some reason, in two places on the wmv version, there are single-frame flashes of frames from entirely different clips that are NOT in the premiere preview at all, and I can't get rid of 'em. Hopefully no one else will see them.

Mmm. For my next video, I'm going to be doing an El-Hazard video to "I'm Going To Go Back There Someday" from the Muppet Movie soundtrack. I wanted to see if I could do the obvious before I went and tried doing the subtle, and I think I did the obvious very, well, obviously with this video. ^_^ Start with the basics, and THEN get fancy; that's my motto.

Then Peach Girl to "Girls of Summer", then 3x3 Eyes/Beserk/Inuyasha/Bible Black/some others to "Super-Charger Heaven", then going back to the 'Everyone's-Done-It' with Chobits to "Imperfect Girl". Wait, I need a comedy video in there.... has anyone done an Azumanga Daioh video centered around Osaka to Blind Melon's "No Rain"?

So, what did you think, sirs?

(and I figured it was better to let that other thread die a natural death.)

I misdoubt as that you actually watched it. No surprise there, wasn't expecting any better from you.

And thanks for that bit about the op exchange forum; already I've watched videos from several animes that I wouldn't have otherwise, and enjoyed them immensely. ^_^

Not bad! Not a lot of fancy tricks, but it does match the lyrics and the rythm of the song pretty well.

dont make fake accounts to give your self publicity it just makes you look more pathetic. 3 words for you LEARN TO ENCODE!!!! and that stray clip thing happens allot when you dont cut a frame or 2 off the videos you stole footage from either that or your footage was seriously fucked up. My new video is better then this and I didnt even try my hardest and made it in like 3 or 4 hours. please for the love of all good editors before you release an amv learn to encode without the ugly blocks.

ZING!

Seriously though, this is a step up from what you did before. I'm encouraging you to keep getting better. If you do, maybe people will stop thinking you suck so hard.

I'm really bad at giving opinions but I do have this to say:

try upgrading your xvid codec... the blocks are probably from some crappy codec that your using with premier.

....It took me an hour of uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling, messing around; I lost all of the Available Presets in Premiere somewhere along the line and I don't know why (probably going to post a thread in the other section of this forum to figure out why or how), but I finally managed to get another codec installed and working and dude...

I am totally serious when I say this.

I owe you a painted garage kit and/or model. You buy the garage kit and mail it to me, and I will paint it to your specifications and mail it back. Check for my PM on specifics.

OK. As long as I've got the re-editing window open, SHOULD I add subtitles back to the last scene to make it... well... more intelligible? Ah, who cares what'chall think, I'm doing it because otherwise you HAVE to have watched the episode to understand what the naff is going on.
