Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

General Introductions and Howdys. . . .
Sorry, I am new here and I just wanted to say Hi to everyone.
Not that anybody cares but here is a little about myself:
I am married, I work as a Sales Rep for Verizon Wireless and make pretty good coin. I have just started going back to college which I changed my original major from English Literature to Interactive Multimedia Design. While I have been a huge fan of AMVs for years, I have never had the proverbial balls to make one. Now since I am actually taking Adobe After Effects classes, I am provided the opportunity to create AMVs for credit in my classes. I have just finished my first one which you can find here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=130836 It is not hosted locally yet, does anyone know how long that takes by the way? I hope I can get some nice constructive critics giving me some pointers here since this is my first one I have ever done.
I am glad I have finally found a haven for my anime addiction where I can hang with others like me.
Peace,
Always eat your broccoli warm.

I usually find that the local link is available a few minutes after I finish uploading the file and confirm the upload. But then, I haven't uploaded anything in over a year, so things may have changed since then.shivatrance wrote:I have just finished my first one which you can find here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=130836 It is not hosted locally yet, does anyone know how long that takes by the way?

When you upload a video, go to the main page and you should see a link that says "confirm video"
You have to click that, check your video then confirm it if the vid is okay okay

That pic came from moonslayer's upload guide
you can see the whole guide here

Yeah, well, looks like I am a bit of an idiot. I guess it will never be posted since my video comes in a just over 100 MB at 110MB. Can't get it any smaller. Saved it in After Effects (rendered rather) at quarter resolution and only 360X240. Oh well. Guess no one sees it then.
I suppose I have to get working on another then. . .Damn...

Unless its a long video like 10 minutes or something you should be albe to get it smaller than that.shivatrance wrote:Yeah, well, looks like I am a bit of an idiot. Make sure your audio isn't uncompressed. That can make the file alot larger. You should have the audio in your video encoded as mp3.
