WIP - World Taken Apart
Hey, I need a quick favor from or two of you. If you could go here and download this quick, 11 second beta and comment on it, it would really help me out. Specifically, I'm wondering if the beat synching here is too much - and if not realize that I'm planning on synching for another ten beats or so. Are the flashes too much? Should I just not sync to this part at all? Or at least not so much?
Keep in mind that the rest of this song is very slow, and I'm wondering if this part of the AMV would look out of place. The song is "Worlds Apart" by Jars of Clay, if anyone knows it.
Also, as usual with WIPs, ignore the video quality. This is a VERY small file - only 4.7 MB - and I will not be using this encode with my final version. Also realize that the order of the scenes I've used will probably be changed around.
Basically all I care about here is whether or not the sync feels out of place, so if you could take five minutes and help me a little I'd really, really appreciate it. Thanks!

at 0:07 seconds, it seems to de-sync from the music, since the light drum is completely overtaken by the large drum.
The flashes seem a bit repetitive to me. At 0:06-0:08 I'm expecting a scene change. It sorta works, but then the 3rd jump (0:08) is really large and disrupts the sense of continuity that you built up with the first 2 flashes.
Also... I need to point out... are you purposefully doing the interlacing in the video? You might want to de-interlace it or fix whatever wrong setting you have right now before you complete your entire video.

Yeah, I know about the interlacing, and hopefully I can get rid of it before I upload the whole video. I ripped the files kinda haphazardly because I wanted to start this AMV right away, and I think I didn't de-interlace it enough. :/ I'll do something about it.
I appreciate your thoughts; the repititiveness is exactly what I was worried about, and I think I'm going to have to find a way to redo this part. It just seems like I need to put *something* on those drum beats, because they stick out too much to just ignore.
So thanks a bunch for your input; if anyone else wants to take a look and has any suggestions, please let me know!

I am really not a fan of this kind of music. Calm guitar music, that turns
finaly out into rock (I guess...). No I´m really not a fan of this
"good boy"-rock. :/
However:
Interlanced: You will no it if not: Check your Project settings, output
settings, avs scripts.
It is a good question if you should sync so much or not. I would say that
it works good as long as you keep the speed on and change the speed not
from one frame to next one.
To video Quality:
Yeah... Keep on working with .avi or mp4
Do you have tried out to make a combo with increasing the contrast and
brightness, instead of only brightness?
"I think I didn't de-interlace it enough. :/ I'll do something about it. "
Uhm... yeah I am currently work now with the DVDs and avs scripts and if
you can really delete nearly every interlanve, than please let me now it,
because... I also don´t get rid of all
It is quite hard to clean this footage.
I am pleased with the video and for me it is not to fast, but yeah...
you now my amvs, so you will understand why.
Extra:
Delete the borders. Helps compressing and gives the codec more bitrate
to play with.

I knew that when I posted this, you'd download it and tell me you don't like the music. I didn't expect you to, but I love this song and it fits almost perfectly with the mood of the story I'm trying to tell. So I'm not changing it
To the interlacing, I think I'll be able to get rid of it, or at least make it less noticeable, in post-processing. It's too late for me to make new clips that have a stronger deinterlacing/IVTC filter because then I'd have to redo my entire video. I only have like a minute and a half left, so that's out of the question.
The borders on the top and bottom are there because it's an MPEG file, and for some reason compressing in MPEG puts borders on the top and bottom. My other two MPEG videos are like that too. They'll be gone in the final version.
To Greggus1:
I *think* I know what you mean, but honestly I don't know if I have enough footage to fill all those beats. After SPOILER WARNING
I may go back and rip some more scenes to use from previous episodes, but my computer's been acting up lately and last night when I tried doing that it just shut down for no reason at all. This happened at least five times. Maybe I had too many programs running or something; in either case it's a real pain to have to start ripping and converting footage just to have your computer turn off so you can start all over again. I'm forced to ask if it's worth it...
:/
Thanks guys! I really appreciate your time!

there's really not a whole lot of footage of Ayato looking depressed or reflective, and the few scenes that I do have I want to put in a little later in the song to give it more lyrical sync.Asahina dies

No I want to say, that:CrackTheSky wrote:I have the DVDs, and it's not like I don't know how to deinterlace my material, it's just I was in a hurry to start this AMV so I didn't check my footage enough when I started converting the d2v files and making clips.
At least, I think that's where you were going with that.
No matter wich programm you use for editing. You DON´T have to make clips when you are working right.
d2v is good, but only combined with avs-scripts. You can import them than into every video programm (with or without VFAPI or ffdshow).
