Jahshaka 2.0 released
Jahshaka 2.0 final was just released today. This is a free and open source Editing/Compositing/MotionGraphics/lots of other stuff application. In the past, this program has been extremely buggy for me, but they say this version is the most stable yet. I haven't given it much time yet, but it seems fairly nice. This might be turning into a very viable application choice for some.

Well its not going to take your entire system down or anything :pdevilmaykickass wrote:Hmm, I may try it out.
I just wish you wouldn't have mentioned the buggy part...that makes me hesitant. =/
So far, it crashes whenever I load a lagarith encoded avi file, but it seems to work aside from that. It even loads xvid files fine (though this is obviously NOT recommended!)

From Bauzi:
And I was reading threw the guides of the programm and tried a few things out and have to say:
-Where the hell can I cut my clips?
-Why can´t I shift a clip from one clip to another?
-Why does it eat soooo much hardware?
I´ve tried with a simple .bmp frame and my system is really not bad (3,42 Ghz, 1GB RAM, but I have only 49GB freespace... well Premiere works much better!). It stucks long before i get to the fx window.
Yeah it looked fine but sometimes I am missing simple things and it works sometimes to slow
Well this is how it works on my system, but how does it work on an other?
@Zarxax: Yeah the prog closes down if you open a lagarith clip.

I'll download this later. Scared by the "buggy" and the "premiere is better".

For what it's worth, a Lagarith decoder isn't present in libavcodec.Zarxrax wrote:Well its not going to take your entire system down or anything :pdevilmaykickass wrote:Hmm, I may try it out.

If Jahshaka uses the ffmpeg libraries and doesn't handle error cases well, then that could certainly explain the issue. The site seems to be down now, so I can't grab the code, but when it comes up I might peek into it. Jahshaka's one of those applications that I never really kept up with, but it looks like it's going along well. Older versions ran fine, but then again I wasn't running it on Windows :P
