Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Tokyo Demons - Kakurenbo vid

Why do I always seem to wind up basically retelling the anime? I was hoping for something a little different to come out of this. But that said, I am happy with the results.

I also always seem to have nothing to say. Meh. Go. Watch. Cuss at me for making such a bad video.

Do me a favor and don't be so cynical about your own videos? A pessimistic/sarcastic introduction is only going to weaken the first impression. "Modesty" only works for the 2% who are so dang good that we love anything they throw at us. Introduce with confidence and let the viewers handle the criticism.

Now that my pet peeve is out of the way..

Editing: The video maintained focus despite the lack of lyrics. One of the better "tribal instrumental" works I've seen.

Storytelling: Well, the ending made it seem like a trailer, but the video didn't play out like a trailer. If you intended it be a short promo, it needed more anticipation toward something. If not, there was precious little concept/story.

Quality: Not very good. I'm not looking specifically for quality on the first viewing, so if I notice the lack thereof right away, that's a bad sign.

Overall: Engaging, simple but effective editing, needed a stronger concept, iffy visual quality.
