One problem with your explination... Real life != Internet. It's a sad but true fact. If it happened in real life, then by all means take a bat to the guy's face or slap him with a harassment lawsuit, but if it's on the internet grow up and get a sence of humor or ask for your QCs to be turned off.

Why? This isn't an unmoderated chatroom. This website has mods and admin and rules that are, for the most part, enforced on a regular basis. Why should QCs be any different from the rest of the site?BasharOfTheAges wrote:...if it's on the internet grow up and get a sence of humor or ask for your QCs to be turned off.
If you can't identify harrassing phone calls via caller id, your only alternative is to get your number changed. That's sad but it can't be helped. This is different. We don't know that the 'caller' can't be identified until someone running the site tells us. Until that happens, this is no different from complaining about harrassment in ops, journals, PMs or forum posts.
Jeeze, what's with the whole hands-off approach to the site this year? First it was the free-for-all journals and now we aren't supposed to care about specific targetted harrassment in QCs? What's left? We stop deleting harrassing ops and ignore hateful comments posted in the forum because it's too much trouble to try and control the internet? This isn't the unmoderated internet! Give us the video name and we can attempt to look into it. Unfortunately, unlike ops/posts, etc. we cannot do this as easily as we might like to at the moment.AnnaMayBelle wrote:Is there any way to report offensive quick-comments? I'm aware that they're displayed anonymously, but is there any way for the administrator to trace them? I'm not talking about "someone didn't like my video", I'm talking about actual vulgar, offensive quick-comments of a sexual nature.

Targeted harassment? It's probably one of a handful of people that do this all the time to everyone.
And stop giving real life examples, real life != internet. They have laws in place to do stuff in the real world. There's also physical violence - the threat/use of which (in real life) sometimes puts an end to silly things like this.

A few misconceptions I'd like to clear up:
1) Anonymous doesn't mean a damn thing. Some people would leave the exact same comments with their username attached. Trust me on this, I know.
2) Asking for them to be stopped can work. I have a list of people I don't comment on because they've asked me not to.
3) Sexual harassment is not illegal. A man can walk down the street and ask each and every woman he passes to show him their tits without being arrested. It's astounding what the right to free speech allows isn't it? Of course, I'm talking about verbal sexual harrassment. Physical sexual harrassment is a different issue but it's impossible to be physically harrassed in a QC. Incidently, the original post didn't cry sexual harrassment, it was about 'vulgar, offensive quick-comments of a sexual nature'. Do not confuse the terms 'disgusting' and 'sexual harrassment', they have very different meanings.
4) Get over it. 99% of the comments that spawn this type of response are blatently jokes. Granted they're sick jokes in poor taste done by a demented fuck who would laugh at a quadriplegic falling down a flight of stairs, but still it's not something to be taken seriously.
Just for the record, I don't recall ever commenting on one of MaBelle's videos. Of course, I usually quickly forget who I said what to so who knows.

Er, I meant AnnaMayBelle. Damned usernames are too alike. And thinking about it, I might have. *SIGH* Another one to add to my list I guess.godix wrote:Just for the record, I don't recall ever commenting on one of MaBelle's videos. Re: Offensive Comment Reporting?
The offending quick-comment was left on my "Shades of Red - Prelude" OAMV, at 2006-08-10 20:22:09. Now, I know that the person who left the comment also supposedly identified themselves in the QC, but I'm not 100% trusting in that... For all I know, it could be someone else trying to incriminate someone, which I'd really like to know so I don't wind up disliking someone for something they didn't actually do.Tsunami Jones wrote:Give us the video name and we can attempt to look into it. Because sexual comments could have no relevance on the video, and so is just plain harrassment. If I were to call someone a moron in a QC, that's cool because maybe the video just reeked of stupidity.

Heheh yeah like a quick comment I just got. THe dude claims that I "Stole his stuff" first, the video was made back in 1999. Second, it's one of my worst amvs and is total ass. You'd think that if I were going to steal an amv, I'd at least try and steal a good one.
Gimme a minute, I'll make a cool one....
