he probably didnt put that space.... for a long time the tube was breaking links in video descriptions and i guess that doing so still active on profiles...

so its all in all possible that he didnt break it

Oh, I never meant that he did it on purpose, it had seemed like an accident in the first place. I just kinda laughed after I figured out why I wasn't going to an actual page.

I found my vids were showing up on That Site before the filter started here. A few people talked about flagging or complaining until the vids went down, but it never really happened. So I just linked the vids in my favorites list on that site. It's funny, actually. I don't have to upload them myself and I'm not responsible if anyone decides to go after amvmakers using that site because I wasn't the one who shared those vids. What I really like is when I find multiple copies of the same video. Some of the repeat uploaders even give me credit for making the vids, so it's not all bad. They even have a tag now for "Arigatomina" which I just find hilarious. It's more flattering than having org members steal my footage (or entire vids) and call them their own. At least most people on That Site are upfront about uploading vids they found rather than made.

I've put 24 of my vids in my favorites list so far, counting repeats, but a search using my name turns up 26. That doesn't even count the ones who don't know who made the videos. I've learned that if I search for a specific video (not using the title) that's at least a month old, I can probably find it on there somewhere. If that's the case with most amv-makers, it won't be long before That Site has a copy of every local video the org offers. We should either try to stop that, by mass flagging, or make the best of it somehow. Just griping and filtering won't change anything. One of my newest vids was only local here for a week before two people uploaded it there.

Well since it's a violation of the site TOS you might convince an Admin on that site that if there is a video HERE then it the person here should say whether or not the video will be taken down.

Otherwise, there really isn't a lot that can be done without resorting to bonehead tactics. Outside of somebodies tiny circle of friends who are impressed by their lies it's an issue of minimal impact. (Unless people start stealing videos and submitting them to cons and stuff.)

The trouble bunny, is that people already HAVE done that...

I'd be very annoyed if someone took one of my vids and won something for my work... Now THAT'S my idea of stealing credit...

We can't legally say that it's MY AMV AND ONLY I HAVE THE RIGHTS TO IT...

True, but if not the amv, since it's techinically stolen music and anime, its' NOT ABOVE ALL ELSE fair to the person who put his/her hours of blood and sweat into making it and not only have someone take credit, but someone get awarded...

I can imagine what I'd do to some poor shithead's face if they won like say a large cash award or some free anime after turning any of my vids to a con...

It's fine to say, "hey, this is my vid!" and then show it to people, but if you start earning GOOD things because of my work... There'll be hell to pay... And I'm certain you all feel the same...

This may ver well have recently happened to me recently. IcyCloud was my main betatester throughout the progress of my AWA pro entry. She informed me a copy of one of my betas ended up being shown at Anime Express in Florida. She was not sure if it had been entered by someone else with the purpose to plaigerize or if the staff was just using it to fill time. Either way, my attempts to get an answer out of Anime Express have all but failed.

I am a bit teed off, since I had worked on the video since Christmas "knowing" it would be premiered at AWA (and ONLY AWA!).

HOLY HELL!!!! I am not the best AMV maker. I am Quite mediocre, so when people started having this happen I was like damn. Good Thing It'll never happen to me. I saw this thread and figured, just for kicks I'll Tube myself. AND I HAVE BEEN JACKED!!!! Some one took my first 4 videos, that where quite bad, with fan subtitles which where part of a series, spliced em and uploaded it giving me credit saying they just knockedem together... Someone did this February 01, 2006 IT HAS 6,000 VIEWS!!! 100 Favorites!!!! I'm flattered but I'm PISSED. At the same time... :O!
