Ladies and Gentlemen! Approaching the final day of submission! Though we tried to prepare for it, don't be too surprised if the server gets choked up or something as the procrastinators all pour in!

The time for serious big questions to be asked is now! If there's a problem you think we can help with, lemme know and I'll see what we can do. If you're having trouble navigating the FTP site, do the same. Anything else that comes up is also fair game... don't assume that some stupid glitch puts you outta the running if things choke up on you at the last second...

I am going on the assumption that if we get our FTP submission request in before the deadline and then uploaded at least a day or so after we get the confirmation, we're okay right?

And if we get the blank DVDs mailed out within a few days, we'll also be okay, correct?

Seconding Kinon's request here -- mine should have been there long since, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Last I heard, Wayne (over in Birmingham) hasn't begun digging through the basket of mail-ins yet, so I'm afraid I can't give you a list. There will be a list of recieved submissions a few days after the deadline, but it's not a lot of help then. Hmm...

I'll get Wayne's attention and see if I can get him to list the recieved packages earlier.

And yes, AtomX, that is the way it should work. Although, with the increased bandwidth we got this year, there really shouldn't be enough of a bottleneck to delay uploads more than a day after the deadline.

I have a rather basic technical question that just occurred to me. The MPEG2 specs for our entries are oriented towards the NetStream, which makes sense. So generally don't the staff have to re-encode pretty much all of our entries to make the DVDs?

I not sure how AWA does it, but Ifor DVDs (judging disc, etc) I re-neclode all of them so they are the same bitrate and compliancy

Ayup. We've gotta re-encode for DVD burning so that everything's running on the same tech specs.

Good thing I included a lossless version then. At least I think I did. >_>
