Lugia, The Great Guardian In All His Glory!

Post by Articuno144 » Thu Jun 29, 2006 5:13 am

Hello everyone! I'm new here and really enjoy video editing, learnt by trial and error and this is only my third one ever. Featuring Lugia! The greatest Pokemon to have ever lived, voted number 1 in the top Pokemon throughout Europe, it seems his popularity is everlasting!
Anyway, I'm definatly one of his biggest fans ever, I run a Lugia fansite and know practically everything about him/her/it off the top of my head.
So back to the video.. ^^;

I really hope all the Lugia fans enjoy this, there just aren't enough Lugia videos out there!

:shock: That was not what I was expecting. Word of advice: Video quailty needs work! You need to get rid of the WB logo and the DivX mark. The caputre quality was rather crude as well. Song and video didn't sync perfectly, but for a first try, it looked exactly the way most people's firsts are. I hate to say this but.. Most people probably won't watch an AMV about one pokemon (ok, most wouldn't watch pokemon in general), but I watched it because it was your first one on the org. Typically, this would probably recieve a 6.5- 7 out of ten. I will say this though: it was a good AMV for a first try! Keep it up. Lose the logos, find DVD quality video, and find some differnt anime (or, if you use pokemon, I suggest you work with the themes and symbols in the anime, not on just one pokemon).

Good Luck!

Hi there, thanks for feedback, unfortunatly I cannot loose the logos and I have to just work with what I have. The quality is because of my old computer, I have no other way to save it than WMV.
I concetrate on just one Pokemon at a time because that's what I am into, I don't watch other anime at all (well the odd one or two but not as much as Pokemon)
I'd have synced the song and video more if I could work with video editing better but it's very hard on my computer and I just rushed through it.
I'm not actually bothered that most people aren't into Pokemon, this was aimed at Lugia fans. I'm a total newbie to video editing and am not lucky enough to have a good computer to support it, I'm a little disturbed that you judged the quality, it's the highest I could get, we're not all made of money =/

Two things I thought could've made it better. You could've moved the footage of lugia flying past those other pokemon blasts at around 2:35 and instead put it at the beginning with the lyrics "I take a chance on the edge of life" The other thing was at the beginning of the lyrics "It's just a ball of dust" instead of using what looks like a slowed down sequence of luiga wrapped in a bubble you might have used lugia footage at 2:58 when he emerges from the water. It was a good first video. Beginning was awesome. Transitions would have helped to make it more smooth. Video quality wasn't great but it was was good. Nice tribute. Keep up the good work.

Hate to break it to ya, but I actually judged it pretty lightly, other people would have been a lot harsher. If you read in the opinons guide, it does instruct us to critique other members by video quality. Most of the programs that help out new members by getting better video quality are FREE . As for the anime, I wouldn't sweat it. Oh, and I'm not made of money either :lol: . That's what saving money is for (and having a job helps too). As for you being a newbie, don't worry too much, everyone here was a newbie at some point and time. You just need some luck, skill, and programs other than WMM. Check out the software section of the forums and find the free software programs out there. I use premier pro, but it costs lots to buy (though there is a free 15 day trial period). As for a good computer, I can't help you there, but I do suggest you visit your freindly neighborhood computer store and ask how to upgrade your computer. If you don't want to do that, check the web and do some research!

Sorry if I came off as rude!
