You're not being figurative, I think.
I can neither confirm nor deny.
I can confirm the rock hardcore-ness. :D
Possible Spoilers wrote:I so hope that the OST will include the songs used in this episode. Although the CD with just these songs is also a possible "get" for the artwork. The animation for Haruhi's performance was quite good. It would be interesting if someone were to incorporate this in an AMV. And Yuki again amazes.
There is quite a lot of great moments in Episode 12 so I'm sure your player controls are going to get a workout. And pay attention to the happenings in the backgrounds if you can. Rejoice Tsuruya-san fans, LOL-tan gets quite a bit of screen time as hinted in the preview from ep11.
Definate Spoilers wrote:Things to watch for (Timings are for the raw, un-subbed version. If the subs are done as usual, subtract 00:10 from the timecodes except for the first.):

00:15 - The schedule of movie screenings that Kyon looks over lists "The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru" 5 times.
02:36 - Kyon walks past the Computer Club playing Day of Sagittarius III.
02:38 - No comment...
03:38 - As Kyon talks to Taniguchi and Kunikida you see the ENOZ members in the background and a certain bunny-costumed person walking in...
04:35 - ENOZ members run past Tsuruya, Kyon and company.
07:11 - A bunny and a magic-user run past in the background. =P
15:43 - Who are you and what have you done with our Haruhi?!
21:29 - Oh, there she is!
22:04 - Unlike earlier, Haruhi doesn't grab Kyon's tie... ^_^

The only disappointment for me was the lack of any "Mikuru moments". Although Tsuruya-san makes up for this shortcoming.
Also, to update the chronological episode list or, "The Episodes According to Haruhi":
1. Episode 2
2. Episode 3
3. Episode 5
4. Episode 10
5. Episode 13
6. Episode 14 <--- almost all but confirmed
7. Episode 4
8. Episode 7
9. Episode 6
10. Episode 8
11. Episode 1 <--- speculation, by process of elimination*
12. Episode 12 (!)
13. Episode 11
14. Episdoe 9

* since Haruhi never answers Kyon's, "Haruhi. By the way, what episode was today's..." query in the preview from ep1, this is the only logical place.

btw, being on various thrill rides at my local state fair did a number on me. I should have had this post done yesterday, but it was all I could do to just watch ep12.

Ohhh, episode 12 was indeed hardcore! 8-)

There must some significance of Haruhi and Kyon agreeing to the same episode number because....
Haruhi was really NICE AND CONSIDERATE?!!!
Quite a bit of interesting moments here and there....
...HARD GAY FTW!!!!

Yuki is not only a freakin' 133t hacker, but she can play the guitar really well!

Haruhi makes a pretty good emo rocker!

Tsuruya obviously wins as well!

So is this what BECK looks like during the concert scenes? Hmmmm, intriguing.
I want the OST of this series so badly!!! Given the commotion of this episode, I bet that single would sell like hotcakes and make it to the Top 5 of the Oricon ratings. :P

x2 to everything said by everyone above. Not much I can add to that. Just another great episode, great writing, great animation, and new to the areas of the show between the openning and closing theme's, great music. Aya Hirano (Haruhi) definitely got some skills in that department.

Interestingly enough, there's a full version of Koi no Mikuru Densetsu included in the CD as well.

I know what you mean. The animation is beautiful, and the scense (like this one) are nothing short of pure awesome.

I would not be surprised to see a flood of Haruhi amvs once the DVDs come out over here like there was for Azumanga daioh ;p

Not much more I can say about the awesomeness of this episode that wasn;t already said, I'll just add that you gotta admire Kyo-ani's attention to detail.

Yuki never fails to deliver haha

She can do everything perfect after reading the manual
