- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Chapter 219
Hi all,
Just wanted to announce that I've put up my Chapter 219. It won the award for editing at Anime North this weekend.
Now don't let the sources (Naruto, Sum 41 - No Reason) through you off. I set with a concept I haven't seen done before and wanted to show that it doesn't matter what sources you have, a video can be great based on concept alone.

Great! I thought your AMV was excellent. I mean, let's face it, most Naruto AMVs suck, Naruto is the new DBZ along with Advent Children. But this AMV was better than 90% of the others they showed in the AMV contest (including Doki-doki's submission). Downloading it now!

It's different, i like it. When doing my Hamburger Hill amv in the form of a comic, i found out just how difficult it can be to extract any sort of meaningful line art from colour anime, and that was just with still frames. I'm not quite sure what you did, but it was interesting - you created a variety of effects for how to bring the colour image into B&W, which in many cases was quite striking. More like brush art than a comic.
I'm not so sure about the speech bubbles - although some of them worked really well, many of the others seemed a bit useless. Unless their purpose was simply to establish the texture of having speech bubbles, so that the ones with meaning would feel less out of place?

Great concept, though it was used in istiv studio's The Race so its not something all too original.
Something about the black and white... and the bleeding of the colors, especially the whites against the blacks seemed too harsh, I understand you were trying to aim for the 'manga' feel, but I felt it too be a tad bit too harsh. Maybe it was just my screen though (i'm using those lcd screens where everything is brighter than a regular monitor).
The music at the end, even though I know the song cuts that abruptly, I felt it to be... like " wow, and now it just seems so... dead ". I felt that maybe you could have faded the song out... or maybe added one of those windy effects, you know, at like the end of songs such as like... Coldplay's Speed of Sound.
The speed bubbles cut off.... is that on purpose?
This is, putting all the bad parts that i felt aside, one of the best Naruto AMVs I've seen... and I've seen a lot, especially those who use this episode where Naruto and Sasuke fight (I've never watched Naruto passed episode 1, fansubbed many years ago... but by watching amvs, I basically know the deal). I can see that much effort was placed in this video and this was not a lackluster project. You rightfully deserved the award from what I could see and I wish much luck in your future AMV endeavors.
