Bleach: Regrets

Post by Dixxhead » Sat May 27, 2006 5:43 am

Well, here I am again. Now everything seems to be working fine, I apologize for the previous stress and stuff. I have now uploaded an AVC MP 4 to rapidshare (~90mb- 8:22 min.).

Please enjoy the vid, I will upload it locally right away. In the meanwhile please use the rapidshare link (http://rapidshare.de/files/21476904/Ble ... s.mp4.html), or the title "Bleach: Regrets", not "Bleach:Regret" in my profile. I have requested deletion of latter so (I hope) it'll just be a matter of time until that disappears.

Ok, I have uploaded everything locally on this site. So here you go with all the information: (copied the list layout from godstriker88's post :amv: )

<b>Title:</b> <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... Regrets</a>
<b>Footage:</b> Bleach
<b>Song(s):</b> Trigun OST- Perfect Night, In Extremo- Horizont, In Extremo- Wesserbrunner Gebet
<b>Lenght</b>: 8:22 (yea, I know, it's a beast)
<b>Effects:</b>Nothing much since it is done with WMM, however, one scene with keying (After Effects) and some simple scene changes.
<b>Quality:</b> Pretty damn good I'd say, as good as the footage itself. 1050kbit/s AVC (in Mp4 container).

<b>Description:</b>
I tried to recreate the Battle between Ichigo and Byakuya, so it has some spoilers in it. Originally I planned to have this diveded into 2 videos (might have been the better choice) but in the end I opted for the 8 minutes version (2 songs). You will see the battle from the beginning to the end (of course edited, otherwhise it would be pointless ^^) and have some little intermezzos that most likeley only Bleach-viewers will understand (Rukia leaving/crying... whatever..)

Well... Enjoy!

Your biggest problem is the video is 8 minutes long. theres no reason at all for it to be that long for it to just be about Byakuya and ichigo's fight. If I wanted to see the fight again I could just rewatch that episode. Theres nothing new going on here aside from how it happened almost exactly in the episodes, so theres little to keep me interested in the video. This video could've been cut down to at least half this length and still show all the key points of the fight, at and edited much faster and tighter to make the action more intense, then it wouldve been more interesting. A slow long video like this with no real story aside from the fight how it happened in the episode is just kinda boring to sit through for 8 mins.

So, although you edited some of it to go a little better with the song, there just wasn't nearly enough editing to make it any more interesting than watching the fight in the original episodes. I'd suggest watching some other's action videos that get good reviews to get an idea of how a good action video should look, and try and learn from them, if this is your first time editing a video. Check the Recomended Videos forums for some of these.

As for this video, Despite being a bleach fan, I didn't realy enjoy it. I hope the constructive critisism helps though.

Yes, thanks. I appreciate your criticism. But what I cannot understand is why you did not like to resee the fight in a more active way than it was in the anime... Either you did not like the type of music or you just do not really like to see things twice, imo. This is the first time I hear that the vid was boring, in fact what I heard as a compliment once was: " What is good in this vid, is the fact that it does not get boring despite the length ".

So, I intended to create an AMV to bring over the Battle more intensified with harder music. Also I really tried to bring variaty into the vid, in fact I opted for 2 songs instead of one, which should've changed the pace of the vid drastically. And as you may have noticed in the credits I originally wanted to call this Vid "Byakuya vs. Ichigo" but after coming here, seeing all sorts of original names for the vid I changed the name to Regrets...
So yes, my aim WAS to bring over that battle with next to no story (only the really essential WHY: "Rukia") in a more liveley way. I didn't expect that I failed in the latter so miserably you would have rather rewatched the eps :(

What I noticed while watching some of the Vids in the "Recommended" section was that, in order to bring the story over, people used text in the vid. First of all that would somewhat go against my style (or at least the one I'm aiming at ^^) and I can not make that with WMM, though I'll think about getting a better Video editing program.
Still, it's futile to discuss about likes and dislike, I hope the next Vid I will create will sadisfy you more.

Thanks again for the feedback though. I will try to improve following your advices. :)
