It is not. Don't be so negative. That's like saying it's impossible for any critic to be entirely honest because all critics are human. You can still aim for ops that are as honest as humanly possible. Those fans who love your video and give you all 10s because they see absolutely nothing wrong with the video are being entirely honest. You might not agree with their opinion, but that doesn't mean they're lying.guy07 wrote:But Beo is right, it's impossible to get a honest op these days.
This thread isn't calling for 'honest ops', it's calling for harsher judges. Going out of your way to find bad videos so you can give lower scores isn't being an honest reviewer. It isn't even being an honest viewer. Honest viewers download videos because they hope they'll end up liking those videos. It's a good habit to review all those videos you download, whether you like them or not. Targetting new creators for the sole purpose of lowering the stats is far less honest than targetting your favorite creators for the sole purpose of watching videos you like.
We had another long thread like this, not too long ago. Their decision was to get a group of forum-goers and have them review so many bad videos per week. They felt it was needed since the stats are in the 8s - clearly not average or reflecting the site as a whole. I think the grand plan lasted a week or two before they went back to being honest viewers downloading and reviewing for the purpose of finding videos they enjoy watching. It's natural.
I'll say the same thing I said to them - if you want amvs to get better, and you are already using new creators so you have a safe target to give your 5s to, then be sure you deliver the criticism in a helpful way that encourages them to improve. Otherwise, you're just smothering new talent before it has a chance to bloom - and leaving the huge pool of the average editors to keep making the same mistakes over and over. It won't change anything except the average of your 'opinions given' stats.
