This video uses a song by Staind that as far as I can tell has never been used for an AMV on this site before. The theme it portrays is Squall's internal struggle with his emotional self-sufficiency, contrasting his relationships with Seifer and Rinoa. It particularly portrays the change in his attitude toward Rinoa--how he first views her as an annoyance and later comes to fall in love with her. The clips fit the song excellently, and I worked hard to perfect the synch with the music.
Though only my third AMV, this is actually my 10th music video, and the second I've made using Sony Vegas. For this video, my new software enabled me to finally make the kind of video I've wanted to make for a while, complete with numerous effects such as overlays and strobe effects. The result was more than I could have hoped for.
Any opinions would be highly welcome, as I hope to submit this to several contests.

It crashes VLC about five seconds into the vid proper. It did the same thing in WMP6.4 even after downloading and installing the necessary codec. It played the opening bumper in WMP10 and then gave me a C00D1199 error (unsupported file type). While I'd like to watch this vid, I can't (funny that the first vid I can't play is a .wmv. I thought those things were supposed to be compatible with Windows machines?). How do I get it working?Dark Lord of Debate wrote:Anyone interested at all?

Bizarre. It must have gotten corrupted when you downloaded it, since I did a test download of it from the "org" yesterday and it played fine. I've had three people review it so far and it worked fine for them as well. My suggestion.....re-download it. That's all I can think of. Sorry it's not working.

Yeah, it must have some random problem because it's working fine now. No idea how that happened.
The video is pretty easy on the eyes, although there are some predictable bits (not huge chunks of unaltered footage, but the select in-game cuts that everyone likes to use). I just knew that when I saw Squall in Rinoa's arms I'd be seeing the field of flowers used for synch.
