Great stuff; I really dug it.

One thing though is that with Beserk there's white "stuff" (not quite sure what to call it, but it sometimes appears on older animation) on the top or bottom of the cells during scene switches. I generally find it pretty distracting if it's not cropped off.

The song and the anime clicked together perfectly. The scene selections were good and the syncing looked very nice and natural. I rarely enjoy Berserk videos, so congrats on making one I could get into. :)

You have credit in this as well, since that conversation we had about the structure of the middle section and the main riff was what pushed me into that re-editing run, and the tightening-up of the editing there hugely contributed to the vid I think.
Glad to help. It's nice to see a well-done old schoolish video. And I just watched the final version, the quality is very nice. I don't know what original Berserk footage looks like, but this still seems good in comparison (of what I imagine it to look like).

Just curious, could you pinpoint where you saw them?
I know there's at least two of them in the video. Unfortunately, they're very hard to catch, especially in the small preview window; another factor was that these were less noticable in the betas I sent out to people, which were lower-quality than the final, so they probably dismissed them as compression artefacts.
I guess it's a case where good compression makes these things more apparent. Thanks for noting it, though! :)

Thanks. I'm glad they "clicked", that's what made me do this video - I thought they would "click" back about 3 years ago, and it looks like it worked!

I can't give you a "Wasteland" every time, if that's what you mean

It's all new to me, and frankly it was more or less a "whatever, this combo has to get done" than any plan to innovate. I guess it's more or less a follow-up to my hard-rock-based Macross Zero AMV from almost to years ago, though that one relied more on iternal sync and in some ways was smoother thanks to the really dynamic footage - something I couldn't really afford with Berserk. Both are just my 'inner rocker' talking, I guess - just like I can't go on forever without making another bizzare sillyness like RPBP, I can't go on for long without trying my hand at something in the rock/metal spirit. \m/

Again, thank you!

I enjoyed the beta and should have started downloading this this morning, when it was announced; now I have to wait till I get back to the hotel, if not tomorrow. I thoroughly enjoyed the beta and am amped about seeing the final release.

While I'm not usually one for Berserk (well, aside from Bote's Man of Sorrows vid), I really liked this one. It had a nice flow to it, and it was a very fitting combination. I know it's not your usual style, but you pulled it off well. Nicely done.

No problem.

:56 seconds, right after "I wait outside the pilgrim's door", there's three in quick succession, one on the bottom and two on the top.

1:30 along the top of the scene with the sword against the stormclouds.

1:32 - cannon along the top.

1:33 - cannon along the top and then on the bottom

1:36 - along the bottom of both the scenes of the halberds.

1:44 - along the top, right after it zooms into Gatsu's eyes

1:51-52 - along the bottom right before the "slower" scene where Gatsu hit's the guy's armor, creating sparks.

1:57 - This one isn't white, but it's along the bottom right before the screen goes to black.

1:58 - bottom, right before you see the three guys on horses.

2:01 - bottom, guy riding on horse toward the screen.

2:02 - bottom, Gatsu on ground after dodging a halberd.

2:07 - bottom, when Gatsu grab's Zodd's sword.

3:12 - along the top, right as the faces begin to spread.

3:23 - bottom, as the chick with the wings is rising.

Just a quick crop along the top and bottoms with avs across the whole vid takes care of this stuff pretty well.

Man, do you have good eyes or what!

Thanks for the heads-up. I hadn't noticed half of those myself (in fact I still don't unless I go through frame-by frame), nor have my beta-testers - I'm so asking you next time

I hope they're not that much a distraction, at least for those who aren't as quick to notice such things
