Dedications.

Again, why do you need to involve the whole world in your affairs? Why should the world care? See it from our perspective. At least try. You know, other people, other than yourself. Who have thoughts and feelings too. Try it.

It's lovely between two or three or six people ;P - but being used as a component of your exhibitionist fetish makes me, as an audience member, feel rather icky.

But then, not to pull the age card, kids love public displays of affection and making out in hallways and such. "Proving" something to their peers, all "look look, I can get a girlfriend omg!" It's charming and deeply irritating at the same time.

Also, it's different from a novel dedication because a novel is not about that person. It is a stand-alone work which has merit all by itself, and nothing is changed if you leave off the dedication. My Girlfriend Is Just Like Belldandy videos aren't anything like novels - they are themselves valentines. Like that: they're more like valentines. Do you give valentines to your girlfriend or do you post them up on a wall and hope she walks by?

It's corny. 1337 @m\/ creators r 1337 and don't do that shit, unless they are newb 1337 @m\/ creators, then it's okay, 'cause everyone laughs at them anyway. Like all those guys with 1337 r@tings.

Do your dedications at the end. Once you've made them laugh and cry, you can reveal to them that they're the inspiration behind your majestic efforts.

Just make sure you don't dedicate a pile of cr@p to them, unless it's intended to be funny.

You can dedicate to a video for many different reasons. I dedicated my video Outlaws Don't Stop to my grandparents. When I heard the song originally after my grandfather passed away it spoke to me and I've always kept in mind.

I like dedication vids. I've had three that were made with me in mind and they remain the three vids I like most that I didn't make myself. They're not about me, they're for me. I also see it like writing a book for your daughter - it's for her, but that doesn't mean it's not a good book you want to share with all the other people out there who will appreciate and like it as much as your daughter does.

I've made vids for people, by request, but I don't think they count as dedications. Dedications are made without asking, just because you like the person and want to make something they'll enjoy. I think it's nice to make them public, even if only a few people out there will enjoy it as much as the one you made it for. That's the point of sharing vids, for me at least, so others with similar likes will be able to find and enjoy them.

Now...dedications to groups are a little different. If you know them, like a club of individuals you know, that's the same as a one-person dedication. If you don't know them, you're just dedicating a video to your target audience and you do that any time you make something with a target audience in mind. Whether you write down "dedicated to" or not, it's the same thing. I don't consider that a real dedication any more than making an action vid for action fans is a dedication. It's just making something that will be enjoyed by faceless strangers who happen to like what you like.

thing is its like making a valentine for a person and giving it to them, and THEN posting a coppy on the infamous wall... so everyone else can see how much you love them..

but i dont think my husband is like belldandy O.o

and i truthfully think that everyone needs to see this video its ment to be public, if it wasnt public it would lose its value... atleast the "omg i cant believe they did that crap" value lol XD
