I'd actually class Frank Zappa more in the dada-rock/avant-rock and in some cases not-even-rock category, though - at best, "rock that is progressive" rather than prog rock per se (and that's to say nothing of the fact that he's easily one of the greatest musical figures of the last century, period). Actually, I could say same things about KC as for the most part, it's not so much progressive rock as "rock that is progressive".
Good examples of actual prog rock as such would be the 1st couple of albums of King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Yes, Genesis; of more modern variations - Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta. And of course, I can't not mention the somewhat obscure 70's band Gentle Giant, which IMHO is about the most talented group of musicians that ever went up on the prog stage. (Their problem was lack of flamboyant personality and hard-rock drive, which was more than compensated for by their sheer talent)

For me its easier to Describe what I dont like then what I do like since I have discoverd that If I lissen to a song a repeatedly number of times I will eventualy start to like it. *cough* Anime openings *cough*
But there are some things I just cant stand in music, and that is those rap/new RNB bands they play on MTV, Destinys child directly pops to my mind. Another example is Green Day. Loved em before. But after they realesed "American Idiot" I just cant lissen to em anymore. Nothing wrong with their songs its just that I cant lissen to em. Guess its because they sold themselfs out completely.
But there is allso some music I like more than other and that would be songs that are inspired by, reggae and mostly by Ska. Lissen to "Ska-P - Tio Villancico" Is for example a song I liked from the very start.
