"New vids on the block"

Post by Adv1sor » Sat Apr 08, 2006 8:21 pm

Why isn't my latest AMV showing up on the main page under the New vids on the block section?

NME, say something!

It could be for a number of reasons, one of them being that the gods of a-m-v.org hate you, or more logically, because the system picked another amv instead. Your amv is unlikely the only new amv on the block.

hmm, how to say this...

I see more than one AMV listed on the new vid on the block section.

Mine should be there, somewhere on the list, at least until other newer ones bump it off.

Anyone else have any idea why it's not there?

It's not showing up because you're a faggot.

...can you tell me again where someone asked for your opinion?
and really...is faggot the best you can do?
do you even know what that means?

looks to me like your vid was already on the new vid on the block
there have been about a dozen more vids that have come out after yours
worst case: someone uploads and gets out of the queue right afer you do, bumping your vid off the new vid on the block

Are you so pathetic that you can't get exposure for your vid from something other than an automated updater?

Do you have any idea that NME has been in these forums a lot longer than you can imagine?

What does it matter? Flaming for the sake of flaming is still against the rules. He's old. Great. That just means he knows better and does it anyway because he can get away with it no matter what he says. Instead of flaunting his 'oldness', just warn new people that he's a forum pet who's allowed and expected to post whatever funny little nasties he can think of. I've seen him post funnier insults, so I agree with Karuido on this one - calling someone a bundle of sticks is pretty lame. He should have said homo and called it a day.

As for the thread...

Vids are listed on the "new vids" according to when you make the vid description, and when you upload the video. If you make the vid description days (or even hours) before the video is uploaded and confirmed on local, the vid was listed long before anyone could download it - and you were probably too busy uploading it to realize. The only way to have an available vid show on the list is to upload with a fast connection so it's available almost as soon as it's listed in the database - or register the vid when less than 10 other people are listing theirs. If you watch the list you can probably figure which times are the slowest.
