but logicly though, giving it its proper owner meaning to it makes it legal.. Like you make an amv and say "this amv used, ANIME, and MUSICIAN blah blah blah..

Hey, the site is still here, and we're still alive. That in itself is a success for Phade and for everyone. so many could'a would'a should'as could come from this, but this turn out wasn't so bad. The site is still here, it has very littlely impacted us. I personally only made one vid which used Evanescence....its true......, but worse things could of happened including new stricter laws and stuff against AMVs or something. The site could have been shut down....take that into consideration and this turn out is considered a miracle in comparison. I just believe that so many things in the world's history are disputed over what could have or should have happened, but they didn't. I'm just saying that Phade handled the situation greatly, and at the cost of people he doesn't even know. just be thankful is all. (please don't reply to this negatively, i'm just making a point)

Correct me if im wrong but (im kinda new here) this IS Phades site right. He can do whatever he desires with it and dont need to ask for our premission. And the ppl who is taking this site for granted would do best to just stop doing so (dunno if there are but "IF"). And I dont know if there is but if its not it should be a little side note when you upload a vid saying: "Heed my warning if thou art uploading licensed material becaus thy likn may be taken down if the all so mighty tuxeedo-mans comes in to rubb around" or something along those lines.
This might just have prevented all this Hugga Lugga arguments in the first place.
Anyways. I think what he did was right. No use messing with the law when there is practicly nothing to gain. I feel for the creators whos work got taken offline but seriously dude, those who wherent smart enough to back em up themselves kinda deserve to loose em. Dont wanna sound cold or anything, but thats what I am so that is how its gonna come out (Bill Hicks).
And a last nothe... those who really want to show their banned band work can just say on their person description that if someone wanna se em they can ask for it via Email or msn or something.
(Im just brainstorming at 02.00 in the night.)

I was one of the ones who didn't back up his or her video, not because I deleted, but my computer was screwed up and I had to reinstall windows and used some restoring program which only restored a few things. Luckily, Rurouni Keitaro save my butt and sent it back to me. Just remember, we all help each other. One person's action is based on others actions. Think about it.....

All I'd ever like to say to him is- Do what Phade did up UNTIL that point and follow your own advice. because seriously I'd like to see you try, I'll laugh at myself if you win or laugh at you when you lose, but I think you'd need to do more than say you got guts to prove it.
but being a hypocrite: No one should make fun of this guy who thinks such of Phade, he seems to has a VERY pessimistic attitude. But to those people who have said nasty things about him- please be quiet it's already been pointed out.

not quite the same... its the act of distributing the AMV online to other people that is illegal. Your free to do whatever you want in your own home with your legally bought copy of your anime and music, so long as you don't distribute it.Dookstar wrote:What I dont get though is that we buy anime... Because by logic... If u were to buy a toy car and paint it. would the toy company persue a law suit because you made something out the product?...

I should probably clarify that any kind of public performance or anything that allows other people to see it outside of your own home would also fall under distributing it in this case. (if I understand the Copyright laws correctly anyway. I used to do alot of reading on this back when the whole ripping of DVDs issue started going around)Bakadeshi wrote:not quite the same... its the act of distributing the AMV online to other people that is illegal.
