Wolf's Rain - Almost Paradise

Post by AnnaMayBelle » Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:40 am

Almost Paradise
Anime: Wolf's Rain
Music: "Almost Paradise" by Loverboy

My most recent collab with Ma Belle (of Wasted Days & Wasted Nights Productions). People have been bugging us for a while to post this and we finally got around to it after showing it at Anime Express last weekend. :D Quick warning for heavy spoilers. I think this will be best appreciated by Wolf's Rain fans, but I hope you all enjoy it.

Wow, hope the video wasn't too distracting to the audio then. :P

Nice video. I wasn't sure I liked the very beginning because it was a little bit slow at first and some of the opening sequences seemed kind of unrelated to each other or the lyrics, but it picked up pretty quickly and I thought it was pretty good as it went on. Again though, at some spots I think you could have made a bigger impact with clips that were more relevant. I realize as I say this, though, that I am insanely picky about Wolf's Rain vids and it really was a good AMV. I will probably have to watch it again to form a really concrete opinion of it.

Thanks for the opinion (of sorts)! I suppose Ma and I tend to use less litteral meanings for lyrics. Our interpretation was that Cheza herself was the dream, and she was in the arms of another man. Though I really appreciate you taking the time to point out your opinions. While this video may be done, it still helps us improve for future projects. :D

Ah, I appreciate the tip... I've been reading Ermac and AbsoluteDestiny's guide, and while I'm not a stupid girl, it does have a tendancy to cause headaches. So I read and reread a little every day... I'm still trying to understand 4:3, 3:2, and all of this stuff about pixel aspect ratios, what to submit to cons in, what to put online in, and so on.

While it's all very confusing right now, I can remember a time when ripping from DVDs was confusing too, but now I can do it in my sleep. It'll come in time. Until then, I appreciate you pointing out something I need to focus on learning more about and correcting. Thank you!

(I'm paddling as hard as I can, honest~)

I loved this one when I saw it at AE. It had very nice sync and flow, and told the story well. I'm not usually a Wolf's Rain fan, but this is definitely one I enjoy. :)
