I'm looking for dance performances (series suggestions?)

I'm looking for shows with characters that do dance performances. By that, I mean like on a stage or for a show, not something like dancing with a partner at a ball. The style of dancing that I'm looking for is Broadway, jazz/modern, or even hip-hop dance -- but not ballet. (So no Princess Tutu.

)

So far, the only show I can think of that matches this criteria is the Hana Yori Dango movie. It's a little old and hard to obtain, so I'm looking for alternatives...

I'll also consider shows that contain pretty or artistic martial arts scenes.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Off the top of my head, here's a few that might be useful. Most are one-shot episodes or a short segment in a single episode:

Idol Defense Force Hummingbird has a number of performances on stage by the girls
the .hack bonus episode (Unison, on the bonus disk of the limited edition Vol. 6) has a bunch of dancing towards the end
Trigun has an episode involving a dancing girl. I'm not sure where in the series, though, it's been a while since I watched it.
There's always the practice sequences from Eva episode 9 (Dance Like You Want to Win)
Episode 2 of Angelic Layer (another training method)
Super GALS and Kodocha both have a couple sequences, if AD's "Shake Your Tailfeather" video is any indication

And if you're really hard up for footage, there's always Dancing Vash.

The second season of Kaleido Star has Layla doing a dance/theatre performance, I think.

Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture has a dance performance, and Gravitation, Love Hina, Chance Pop Session and Galaxy Fraulein Yuna have concert scenes where the performers dance and sing...

Maybe Key the Metal Idol - more stage-singing than dancing. The Iczelion trailer had a dancing scene, but I don't think that's out on DVD.

Maybe have a look at the Odorikuruu AMV. Not for footage, but for anime with dancing scenes.

While it's not terribly long, there's a scene in the later eps of Excel Saga where they try to turn the ep into a musical (...doesn't last very long, of course, but figured it couldn't hurt to mention.)

Thanks for the suggestions, everybody. Though I think I should have been more clear about what I'm looking for...

What I'm thinking of doing is a dramatic/dance video - that is, a (probably) character profile presented through dancing. So I need to find an interesting character who has some prominent dance scenes in a series...

You know, that actually sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Except since it's Kaleido Star, everybody will be jumping on it before you can say "go."

Regardless, I will definitely be watching for that. Do you remember how far into the second season it is?

Oy, there aren't many anime series that dealt with dancing primarily (that Hana Yori Dango movie short is probably the only one I can think of, but you already mentioned it). For an absolute last resort, maybe you can try something that uses some form of dancing like ice skating or gymnastics? Of course Ginban Kaleidoscope is the only series I know of that uses ice skating.
