Do you only download video's when you know who the editor is
I pass over every page in Announcements until I see something like ::Decoy:: or Godix or something. (Don't get mad I didn't put your name.)
Do you watch the videos that say "First timer here, need feedback on Naruto AMV"?

Ah, the joys of broadband.....but also the sorrows....it makes it too easy, and I download anything and everything, from the big-name editors, to n00bs who are pimping in #AMV. Damn my curiousity! I just can't NOT download them.x_rex30 wrote:Same goes for me. May be a different story with dial upScintilla wrote:Absolutely not. If I like the matchup, I will generally give the video a look no matter who made it.

It depends. I usually look to see if any established editors have posted in the thread (if it's an unknown editor posting the video) and see what their reactions are. Usually, as long as it isn't a WMV and I like the anime/song combination or just the anime, I'll give it a go.
The only time I download a video based solely on the song choice is when I don't know the anime, and even then I'll typically go look up what the series animation at least looks like on someplace like ANN.

but when browsing the announcements I will usually only snag from people I know... unless there is a comment saying otherwise, I notice that the AMVs in the announcement section that say "I'm new" are usually animes I'm not interested in... or its another Naruto video... or another FMA video... or a DBZ one... or another over used anime
but browsing in the "new downloads" I will just go with what combination I think might be interesting.. I love downloading AMVs using animes I've never heard of...
then theres stuff like if I see 3+ videos from the same person in one day, I'll usually avoid that editorer untill they slow down...

I'll click threads if I recognize the creator's names, or if the title looks interesting. If they don't list the anime used, I go somewhere else. Unfortunately, most of the creators whose names I recognize don't bother listing the sources used (or even the concept, especially for group project videos, don't ask me why) so I very rarely download videos from people I know. I just figure if the anime isn't important enough to mention, I probably won't like the video - since I watch vids for the anime first. Those that do list the anime used tend to use sources I'm unfamiliar with (or not interested in getting familiar with), so I close those, too. I don't click many new/unknown threads, but I'm far more likely to download vids made by those people - because they're more likely to use the anime I like, and list the anime in the thread.
This is like that other thread about what it takes to get people to download vids...exactly like it, really. Did we really need two threads? o.O
My criteria - if I know the creator, the thread gets a look-over. If they list the anime and I like the anime (or the concept for multi-anime vids), I download it. If I don't know the creator but the title catches my eye I give it a click and if the anime is listed (and I like it/or the concept), I download. I'm not sure why that means I end up downloading more from people I don't know. Maybe new editors are more likely to service lazy people like me who don't want to do that extra click just to know if it's an anime I've heard of before. Probably it's just that they're more likely to use the mainstream anime I like watching.
Conc: Familiar names = clicks; liked anime/concept = downloads.
There are only two editors on the org who get automatic downloads from me regardless of the sources used - one of them hasn't made any vids in forever, and the other doesn't announce her vids in the forum.
