End of Eva - The Manga edition

Wow, no topic on it? So, now that (most) of you have seen the American release and probably sat through the dub, I was wondering what you thought? I personally found the Dub highly enjoyable, with 3 stand out bad parts..

1: When they go to kill shinji and the guard says "Hey kid, no offense". Misato's supposed to say "None taken".. but noooo.. they have to go and give her a stupid line.

2: American Shinji can NOT scream. It sounds like he swallowed a frog. The Japanese scream was just SO much more disturbing.

3: Asuka speaking the last line in the movie. This REALLY urks me because it destroys the feeling of the final scene.

Oh, and does anyone have any theories on what "The Truth" is? ... as far as Gendo to Ritzko? I never liked the fact that they muted it there.

and wait.. misato does say 'hey none taken' so wut are u talking about? :?
you're right, spike spencer can't scream

but anyway, yeah, the dub was ok. I think it had more an effect on me than the japanese version probably because I watched the series dubbed (stfu, I liked it :P)
now i get to take it over to my friends and watch it on her widescreen hdtv tonight :twisted:

oh yea, another thing that irked me was that the quality of the encode was very ~ to if not = to my hk release, which wasnt exactly perfect in any way. :?

yes, the quality wasn't exactly amazing. and I watched the series dubbed as well..then saw the HK sub, which (jesus) sucked in translation. And no, Misato says something like "Hey, No offense to you either" in the dub

well according to my hk sub that would be more correct, cuz it says 'dont hate me little boy' and then misato goes 'dont hate me' boom
which i thought was cooler anyway 8)

Is it just me, or when Eva-02 is being sliced to bits with the faux-Lances, does Mia sound like a little girl whose mother just scolded her for doing something bad? It's like she doesn't even care that Asuka is being torn to ribbons! In the Japanese dialogue, Mia is shrieking at the top of her lungs.

Oh yeah......
