Anime *Audio* Videos?

Post by azulmagia » Tue Nov 15, 2005 8:19 pm

A case in point:

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=60151

Now, this is a pretty funny video. But, the soundtrack to the video doesn't have any music in it. It's just audio. Nevertheless, it's not a bad video.
I know only the smallest quantity of AMVs listed in the catalog are audio only, so let's discuss AMVs that are significantly or entirely composed of sound clips and not music as such. For this topic, someone speaking over a musical background (such as the well-known clip discussing the varied uses of the F-word, for example) counts as "audio" even though it has music of a kind in it.

I think you're aware of my RPBP vids, so I needn't mention them.

Technically, I consider the 'commercial' videos to be part of that - McKeed has some of that

I'd like to see more of these, myself.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Let's not forget AquaSky's excellent (and really quirky) Quid Pro Quo.

Fucking. Brilliant.

Just saw it and I totally agree with you. I liked the Mustang and Hughes: The Friendship Test but Quid Pro Quo was just ... perfect. There should be a thread in the Recommended AMVs forum 'cause I'd like to know if there are more of these. As I said, I only knew of the Inside Dungeons & Dragons.

All of Jerrit Tenurb's videos are based on (what he thinks is) humorous sound clips. his biggest video is all clips, all except that bannana song.

Well, well, well, Mr. Pilkington has come out with an AnimeAudioVideo of his own - Rip or Die. The soundtrack isn't even music or a normal soundclip - it's a .wav of the DVD Decrypter completion tone. I had to use VirtualDub Mod to watch it. I'd give it a 10 out of 10 on the weirdness scale.

Anyway, this thread is more about discussion of the AnimeAudioVideo phenomenon as a subgenre of AMVs, not providing actually examples as such.
