I was actually thinking about doing something like this some time. Although, if you can make it, it'd be the perfect opportunity to try it out and see how it goes. I think it'd be a lot of fun and give the judges more things to look at and pick a winner rather than just 2 videos. I'd be for this.

Ok, as of last posting we were looking at having the Dinner arround 6-7 ish on Friday night. Now, after looking over my own schedule there is a fairly large block of open space on Saturday between the AMV contest and my AMV panel. (about 2 hours) Which I think is a rather nice chunk of time to hold this thing.
So here's the deal. After calling Red Robin it seems that they don't take reservations. However, they are open from 11 AM to Midnight on both Friday and Saturday. So we have two choices.
To better accomidate those who can't make it early on Friday we can meet arround 8-9ish and do the Diner then. OR to better accomidate those of us who will be there Saturday, we can meet up during or right after the AMV contest and head over, then those wishing to goto the AMV panel can do so and those wishing to stay and chat can also do so.
So, which would you prefer? 8-11 on Friday night? or 3-5 on Saturday afternoon?

Saturday afternoon would work better for me because driving an hour to Troy just for dinner seems kind of redundant for me. A 2 hour (round trip) to be there for only about 2 hours seems redundant to me. Plus, I have a LAN party on Friday night that I don't want to miss.

Ok, here's the final deal for the AMV Creator Dinner.
We are going to try to go at it on Saturday. The time will be from 3-5. We will meet up right after the AMV contest (preferably outside main programing since we need to clear it out for the next event's setup time). We can then decide if we want to walk over to Red Robin or car pool. Hopefully getting a table will not be horribly bad. Everyone is welcome to stay and eat and chat for as long as they want, however I will have to leave a little before 5 so that I can be back in time to sit on my AMV panel which starts at 5.
I hope to see everyone who can make it there. It'll give us a chance to talk about AMVs and well, stuff. Praise the contest winners (who will be announced at the end of the showing), and just get a good meal during the con.
After the dinner I encourage everyone to think about attending the Iron Editor competition. We'll be seating arround 6:15 for it.
