Kamoc proved a year and a half ago that original art is allowed even if it has nothing to do with anime.JaddziaDax wrote:basically if it falls into the Genre of anime its allowed, but if it doesnt then its not... original art is "towing the line" but from what I know its allowed as long as its a fan driven artwork for an anime.

The Mods dont catch everything... there are too many uploads for that, so they cant be expected to do inhuman things and catch everything...
I see members breaking the rules alot when it comes to Teen Titans and sometimes Invader Zim... I caught a Madagascar video once, and they complained that they couldnt upload the video with Madagascar in the profile so they put in an anime... either way breaking the rules does happen.
Scintilla: now I am curious, downloading that vid

Well, if your looking for directions as to what you would like, as you know we all live to serve and cater to the needs of those who insult us, I would say MTV, VH1 and Cartoon Network. Have your cake and eat it too with anime and music videos.
If you like NIN so much, look for AMVs using NIN nails songs. I can think of three off the top of my head for "Closer" that are all very well done. So what if one of them happens to be my own? ^^
Also, when it comes to the images being "random," that may be so in some vids, but for the most part every thing is lyric synched! The images match the meaning of the songs. Sometimes it's really obvious, sometimes it's not if you haven't seen the series, and sometimes (like with Whisper of the Beast) you may need to go look up a translation. But nearly always anymore (because there is much chewing off of heads otherwise) people try to correlate the lyrics with the footage.
As for timing, and quick pictures. I think that the more you watch and make AMVs, the more your ears become trained to hear beats and your timing gets a lot more spot on and you become more driven to hit all the beats. Likewise, the more you expect to see in others and the higher your standards become. When I first got into AMVs back in 03 I was pretty forgiving of poorly synched vids, but now I can't stand them.
It's just something that comes with time.
Also, I can see from your profile that you haven't made any yet. Well don't knock it till you try it. If you think AMVs should be a certain way, then make the damn things yourself.

But this is by no means a hard and fast rule; in particular, action and dance videos seem less bound by lyric synch than other genres, whereas in comedy it's often effectively a requirement (depends on the audio source used).staces wrote:Also, when it comes to the images being "random," that may be so in some vids, but for the most part every thing is lyric synched! Really? My bad, here's the link http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=91763
sorry
As for staces: I didn't complain about bad syncing I'm complaining about too many flashy picutes in too little time, which is caused by the desire to synch which I don't feel is that important. Furthermore, The whisper of the beast uses a german song which just happesn to be my mother tongue, so don't wave the "it's just above your head" rod at me. And nice job with the cartoon network reference, you totally pwned me with that one. It looks like your post was written by two different people, one of which I can respect.
