I'm surprised noone's mentioned Revolutionary Girl Utena yet. There's also Jubei from Jubei-chan, the main character from Air Master, Lime from Saber Marionette J, and I'm pretty sure at least one of the girls in Mai-Hime fights with a sword. Of those, Jubei-chan and Air Master probably have the most similar art styles to the series you're already using.

Maybe Caska from Berserk. She fights with a sword. I think she is in her teens, at least early on in the series. She gets a little older as it progresses.

I believe Cutey Honey uses a sword. She would be in her early 20's or around there. You can get collection one and two from ADV essential anime pretty cheap. It is rated 17+ for nudity though.

Arashi, the serious schoolgirl-dressed swordfighter from X. I don't remember how much screen time she gets fighting, though, since I only saw the series once. She's 16 or so, probably. here we go.
