Browse by Anime option II
Odd thread title, but Zarx's post reminded me of something that I wanted to suggest.
Hypothetical Situation: I just finished watching a new anime - let's say...Cowboy Bebop - and I go to look for videos. To make things more convenient, I use Browse by Anime. Unfortunately, I have to wade through twelve pages of multi-anime videos that only have a little bit of that anime in them just to get to the ones that only use CB. Kind of irritating.
You wouldn't think that this would happen much, but I have had it happen many times. The way I've noticed it, the more popular an anime becomes, the more likely this is to occur. For example, let's do a super search for downloadable CB videos. Results: 1668 videos. That is a LOT of pages to scour through. My suggestion could be a way to "weed out the junk," so to speak - no offense intended.
Okay, I know what some of you are thinking: just skip over the multi-anime videos! Yes, that does work, but with a really popular anime, the number of those videos adds up quickly and causes a lot of excess pages of searching.
Alright, so how about situations where the anime has many series to its name: DragonBall, for example. Keep in mind that I know nothing about web programming, so I'm not sure if this could be done, but my suggestion would be to have the site recognize only multi-anime videos using incarnations of DragonBall. If there's any other anime listed in, the video gets thrown out of the results. This, of course, would be a second option in addition to the solitary anime search option.
In closing, I realize that the search menu is getting pretty cluttered, but I also believe that this is an option worth the space it would take. I mean, excess pages of searching is one of the main reasons that I hesitate to tackle Eva videos in a super search.
I hope you'll consider this. Thank you for reading.

These sorts of things don't supprise me. Almost any suggestion made in this sub-forum is likely to be made into a donator-only option especially since for it to be done, sufficient interest must be shown. I think this suggestion, however, was made a while ago...

If by "awhile ago" you mean June. I remember because I kept on bringing it up untill it was implementedBasharOfTheAges wrote:These sorts of things don't supprise me. And there is not just one option but four. You can search for videos including a anime, including only that anime (all series, movies exetera), including exactly what you type ("end of evangelion" for example.) or including only exactly what you type.
In conclusion: Donate, it's worth it.

Yeah, yeah. I'll donate. I was seriously considering it anyway, now that I have my college loans and grants and whatnot. I can certainly afford the minimum amount at least, out of my total amount available. I wouldn't do it for that feature, though. I just want to get rid of the damn constapledge screens!
...oh, and because I love the site... *waves .org flag* >_>
Obviously, if I had realized it had been suggested before, I would have never wasted space with my thread. I apologize for that, and thank you all for bringing this to my attention.
*goes to study the pledge screen for a bit*
See ya. ^_^

PS: mods, you can lock this if you like now. Thanks.
