Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

ANTHEM Rebirth

Post by Atvaark » Wed Oct 19, 2005 5:34 pm

AMV lovers, rejoice!

Anthem, the one work that initiated the ouclippo trend, now comes in a brand new MPEG-4 remastered version.

Get it here.

Technical data

This remastered version reencoded from the original MJPEG uses breakthrough h.264 technology for high video quality and small file size. Support for h.264 is now becoming quite good, but some people reported problems playing the vid.

If you have any issue, install the Satsuki codecs -- thanks to Dark-Krystal for recommending them!

QuickTime 7 also does the trick.

You can also try vlc but some people reported color issues.

These small technical glitches are an acceptable tradeoff for being cutting-edge! Anyway, it's a good idea to be ready for MPEG-4 since more and more AMVs will use that format.

Long live anthem? :?:

I had this Gus Gus song in my head for no reason today... must have been a struggle in the force. :)

wtf did i just watch :?
An ocean of dust and randomly strung together pieces of hydrogen, serving no purpose other than allowing all of us to continue in our misery, doomed to an enternity of petty squabbles and meaningless ego trips, until the whole thing one day explodes and starts the whole shebang all over again. - Chaos_Angel

Great !
However, your remastered version brings nothing except codecs troubles... anyway, I was able to play it with VLC, but I think I'll stick to the mpeg1 version.

Still one of my favourite AMVs of all time !

There seemed to be worse aliasing in this remastered version... but other than that, it was better than watching Anthem for the first time! :D
